3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is woody and lightly spiced. If there's any maple here, it's in the aroma, and its almost indistinguishable. Luckily, it's also a solid brew. The taste is white pepper, oak bark, a touch of cinnamon, clove, and an aggressive piney dryness. This is much hoppier than its countenance lets on. The bittering hops are assertive and absolutely do not quit. There's a ghost of a sweetness on the very end hiding under the hop storm that could be the maple, but could well be just caramel malts. The finish is just drier than Bakersfield. I'd drink it again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours clear deep copper with 2-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is Centennial hoppy, with caramel malt. Smells just like Celebration Ale, and tastes the same, albeit a bit more tart and with a smidgen of maple in the flavor. Mehopes Anchor isn’t becoming the new Rogue.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle while sitting with the wife and watching a rerun of Monk. Pours a clear, shiny reddish-orange with plenty of lacing. Aroma is fairly hoppy, cascadian type hops, with some nice syrupy sugar and tart grains behind it. Flavor is again hop heavy. Orange peel and mild earthy/styrofoam notes backed by surprisingly dark caramel malts. The slightest hint of maple syrup that I would not have picked up on without the big hints on the bottle. Pretty hoppy for an amber but pretty good for the beer.
