3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is woody and lightly spiced. If there's any maple here, it's in the aroma, and its almost indistinguishable. Luckily, it's also a solid brew. The taste is white pepper, oak bark, a touch of cinnamon, clove, and an aggressive piney dryness. This is much hoppier than its countenance lets on. The bittering hops are assertive and absolutely do not quit. There's a ghost of a sweetness on the very end hiding under the hop storm that could be the maple, but could well be just caramel malts. The finish is just drier than Bakersfield. I'd drink it again.

Another solid Anchor entry. A full bodied ale with a good balance of malls and hops. Also, a hint of maple.

Bottle pour. Pours a copper color with a slightly sweet malty aroma. Really nice caramel like flavor with an expected touch of maple. Just a really good, super easy drinking, full of flavor amber beer here. Really enjoyed this one. Just plain good.

Excellent appearance marks. Slope-shouldered 12oz bottle. Great label. Oaky, red-brown beer with a clingy white head. Aroma reminded me a bit of an English bitter - tawny, tannic, a little vanilla and toffee, a little sweaty. As with most amber ales, it’s too tannic for me to really enjoy it. Technically pretty good though. Medium to slightly light body. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of light caramel, apple, faint maple syrup, and nuts. It pours a transparent amber with a two finger off-white head that has great retention before eventually to a thick film outlined by a thicker ring. There is a lot of soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel with a hint of fruit and molasses. The finish has light maple syrup, toasty notes, and some earthy/nutty notes. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, I’m not a big Amber Ale fan, but the addition of maple syrup leaves me liking this more than most.

Good for a red. But tried it because we were told it was supposed too have a rich of maple flavor. It doesn’t. It is slightly hoppy. Decent, but not as stated.

(bottle - 12 oz) Amber pour with a fluffy head. Huge hop aroma with a very light hint of sweetness underneath. Flavor is dry and bitter hops at the start but the light hint of malt and maple lends a soothing characteristic to it. Lightly bitter on the aftertaste.

Bottle. Somewhat murky amber - orange pour with a nice frothy head. Good looking beer. Grapefruit and caramel malt, some sweetness. Finishes a bit bitter but juicy sweet as well. Cool beer.
