COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Keg and bottle: Filtered.
First brewed in 2005.
Ingredients: Finest barley malts, wheat malts, and fresh whole hops.
Bock beer, released in celebration of the arrival of spring, is an ancient and mysterious part of the brewing tradition. Over time, the term "bock" has come to mean a beer darker and stronger than the brewery’s regular brew. This is the first time we have brewed a bock at Anchor Brewing Co., and we hope you will find it to be a rich and flavorful addition to our offerings. San Francisco’s Anchor Bock Beer is virtually handmade by the brewers of Anchor Steam® Beer, in one of the most traditional small breweries in the world.

Bottle at the Euston Tap. Pours a rich, reddish-brown with a warm, beige head. Sweet aroma with lightly roasted malts, some caramel, some yeast. Quite sweet flavor, malty, with ripe fruits and further caramel, along with moderate bitterness. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes sweet and malty with some lingering roast. Good stuff.

From bottle into small yard, pours a very dark, rich amber brown with a thick carmel head. Tastes very rich, super subtle hop taste at first and then turning very spicy and malty.

A dark reddish-brown brew with nice frothy head that goes to lacing and hangs around a while. Good carbonation, light. Aroma is lightly sweet and roasty. Flavor is full range of malt roast toast and chocolate notes. Thinner mouthfeel than a porter. Somewhat tart and fruity in the middle. Finish is on the thinner side though.
