2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle. Creamy pour...dark brown...tan head. looks rich. Earthy, piney, burnt aroma is fairly present and interesting...pine resin is the dominate smell. Somewhat reminds me of the OSA. The taste shows even more piney resin. nice creamy thick mouthfeel, finishes with serious resin. Not striking me in any way as a German beer. Maybe this is just left over OSA??? I’m not knocking it for not being German, rather I’m knocking it for being too much like OSA, which I really dislike for the most part...a beer that can honestly only be drank once a year in very small quantities isn’t a great beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice deep brown color with a medium tan head. Nose is caramel, roasted malts and chocolate. Aromas are mainly coffee and roasted malts, with a hint of raisin and hops. Finish is bitter and rather... austere ! Not bad, but not that fun.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good beer. It is balanced and light body. You can taste some biterness, but the fruit taste is predominant, specially the aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at tom’s place. Thanks zvikar. Black, opaque, with a tan coloured head. Aromatic berries and hints of chocolate in the nose, a little sour but mainly sweet in the mouth. Full body, light carbonation, long, sweetish finish. Very nice.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a dark, ’porter-ish’ brown-black, big espresso colored head with decent lacing. Nose is malt, raisins, toffee, cocoa. Mouth is kinda thin and watery up front, then some coffee, malty notes, and a lightly bitter fade-away. Just okay.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is a lot of malt and malt bread. Raisin, caramel, prune. Reminds me of Christmas. Taste is very much raisin and a huge amount of malt bread. Some dark fruit, prunes mostly. Medium with decent carbonation. Alright, good even if you’re up for a malty smack. However, rather one-dimensional. The heavy maltiness gets in the way of drinkability.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Same licorice flavor as other beers from this brewery but chalky flavor makes an epic fail not enjoyable.
