COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewmaster Mark Carpenter’s unique recipe for Brekle’s Brown—a tip of the hat to our first brewmaster—looks to both the past and the future. Mark’s special blend of roasted malts, inspired by the all-malt brown ales in Anchor’s brewing archives, gives Brekle’s Brown its coppery brown color and its unusual depth of flavor—richness and complexity without heaviness. For brewing and dry hopping, Mark has chosen a single, American hop variety called Citra. The subtly entrancing flavors and aromas of this distinctive new hop perfectly complement the unique maltiness of Brekle’s Brown.

Bottle: Pours a brownish copper with ruby tones and a medium off-white head that is mostly lasting. Malty roasted aroma is flowery with hints of citrus. Malty flavor is rich with hints of brown sugar and orange peel. Very well balanced and a delicious brown ale.

One of the best browns that I have tried! Clear dark brown with average head and body. Aroma and taste were roast and malty---with outstanding Citra hops for balance.

Pours a dark amber with a khaki head. Aroma is toasty malt and a floral hoppy note. Flavor is sweet malt, light roast, and a good bit of hoppy bitterness.

Brown with foamy tan head. Lots of roasted malt in aroma, some nuttiness, cocoa and chocolate. Tastes quite sweet, molasses, brown sugar and syrup. Decent brown ale, but I’m starting to get a bit tired of the style.

This is an excellent brown ale. Brown color. Thick and heavy palate, for the style. Sweet malt and pleasant grain flavor. Minimal hop character.

(bottle). An excellent looking beer. A beautiful red-brown with full tan head. Little lacing. Aroma is faintly malty and floral. The flavor is average and within the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Leggera, semplice e molto scorrevole in bocca.
