COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewmaster Mark Carpenter’s unique recipe for Brekle’s Brown—a tip of the hat to our first brewmaster—looks to both the past and the future. Mark’s special blend of roasted malts, inspired by the all-malt brown ales in Anchor’s brewing archives, gives Brekle’s Brown its coppery brown color and its unusual depth of flavor—richness and complexity without heaviness. For brewing and dry hopping, Mark has chosen a single, American hop variety called Citra. The subtly entrancing flavors and aromas of this distinctive new hop perfectly complement the unique maltiness of Brekle’s Brown.

Smooth almost flat body, nutty flavor, easy drinker, very brown...taste wise if that makes sense.

Medium brown head. Clear red body with strong carbonation. Perfumy fruit and wild berry aroma with resiny notes. Sweetish wild berry and oranges taste with perfumy spicy fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-acidic spicy orangey Fisherman’s Friend aftertaste with artificial resiny fruity notes. Not bad, but much too artificial and perfumy. (0.355l bottle, from Vinbudin Kringlan, Reykjavik.)

The roasted malts and strong carbonation makes this a rich but light drop. A good depth of flavour without being over powerful. Burnt caramel hits first then some subtle hops - dark fruits mostly. Well worth a try

Dark brown colour with almost no head. Aroma and flavours of hops, roasted malts, some dark fruit notes and citrous. Well done balance betwen maltiness and hoppiness, but still something missing. I was not impressed.

Extremely malty taste. One bottle can be easily drinken but more world be a chalange. Looks great, preety much like an amber. Nice try regardless. Would recommend to try.

Bottle. Pours a brown mahogany clear colour with large foamy tan head which soon goes down leaving a lingering top. Aroma is rich malt, molasses and slight citrus notes. Taste is sweet and bitter, nicely balnces providing complexity. Substantial mouth feel, quite slick and nice. Overall this is a fine beer, what I have come to expect from this brewery.

Pours a brown color. Thin head and a aroma of malt and nuts. The flavor was good with a hint of sweet malt and nuts, maybe a touch of chocolate.

Poured a medium brown with a small head. Had an upfront caramel with nutty flavor that rounded out into a more vegetable taste with dry hops.
