COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewmaster Mark Carpenter’s unique recipe for Brekle’s Brown—a tip of the hat to our first brewmaster—looks to both the past and the future.
Mark’s special blend of roasted malts, inspired by the all-malt brown ales in Anchor’s brewing archives, gives Brekle’s Brown its coppery brown color and its unusual depth of flavor—richness and complexity without heaviness.
For brewing and dry hopping, Mark has chosen a single, American hop variety called Citra. The subtly entrancing flavors and aromas of this distinctive new hop perfectly complement the unique maltiness of Brekle’s Brown.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops.

Large head with bubbling brown body. Higher carbonation level than most brownies. This better has a slightly astringent flavor which may be from the choice of a singular hop, the Citra.

If a brown ale was hanging out in a bakery too long, this would be the result.... in a good way. Love the malt, the toasted nose. Creamy cookies, cardamom, other spices. Easy to drink. Light for a brown ale, but no lack of flavor.

Bel colore tonaca di frate, ampia schiuma beige molto compatta e frizzantina. Buon aroma di malto, caramello, tostatura, liquirizia, cannella, frutta secca.

Utóíze a korty folytatása.

Aroma of creamy roasted malts and gingerbread. Kinda reminds me of the Anchor Merry Christmas beer but less spicy. But the cinnamon and gingerbread is there. Nice light dry hops. Very enjoyable and balanced brew.

Brown and cloudy with a medium head. The beer has a burned cake, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, nuts and some chocolate cake aromas. Watery with medium carbonation. The taste is like aroma but more fade and dry. Earthy and spicy dry on the tongue, medium long finish. Easy to drink and not bad beer overall.
