COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To commemorate an important milestone in Anchor Brewing’s long history, a special ale seemed appropriate. Having found and experimented with a very rare and unusual hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, we knew that its unique character would impart a wonderful flavor and aroma to a pale ale brewed especially for the occasion: Humming Ale.

Bottle sample at a single hop tasting. Clear golden with white head. Dry white wine aroma, grass and nettle then sweet. Tastes very bitter and hoppy but not dry. Light body, highly carbonated, long, dry finish. Good.

Mar. 29, 2013; 12 oz. bottle from Food King, Waterville, NY. Hazy amber pour; ample head. Vaguely-sweet honey aroma. A dry pale ale, notable for its bitterness. Not as sweet as one would expect. Somewhat unusual, but quite enjoyable.

Gentle aroma, honey, malts very slight citrus. Taste is sweet, not especially hoppy, good malt. Hints of honey and cereal, leading to a resin finish. Lightly bitter. Very drinkable and refreshing, more than the sum of it’s parts.

Pours a light yellow with medium head. Very nice hoppy aroma, some hints of exotic fruits, mostly pineapple, but very slightly. Taste is not too dry, but not strong. Medium to high carbonation, with a slightly fruity body, and moderately alcoholic and short aftertaste. Very drinkable, but a typical American Pale Ale...

Very interesting mouth tingle. Nice malt/hop balance. It’s a different kind of pale ale, but alright nonetheless.

Got the last bottle they had at Hoppy Loft. Poured a hazy amber-gold body. Light herbal aroma, simple. Light malty taste ending in herbal bitterness, showing some notes of honey from time to time. Balanced, but really nothing special.
