To commemorate an important milestone in Anchor Brewing’s long history, a special ale seemed appropriate. Having found and experimented with a very rare and unusual hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, we knew that its unique character would impart a wonderful flavor and aroma to a pale ale brewed especially for the occasion: Humming Ale.

Very good session ale. Pours moderate amber/brown with medium stable head. Aromas are mainly spruce, pine, some citric notes are present too. The american hops are present but not predominant however they overwhelm toasty and malty notes. Body is dry to medium with quite sour taste, bitterness is moderate which leaves a pleasant aftertaste. Good one.

Slightly hazy orange body with a thick off-white head. Good retention on it. Aroma is grassy, piney, with some citrus fruits. Taste is orange with hops. Not too bitter. Nice easy beer.

35.5cl bottle, served in Shaker. Pours orange with medium white frothy head (lasting), some lacing. The aroma is intense orange, yeast and hints of caramel, so good. The taste is quite citrusy and fruity, but the yeast is also present and very well integrated. The palate tends to be dry, but shows an incredible balance. Medium body, perfect carbonation. Really pleasant.

Nice soft IPA/American pale ale. Freshly bitter and fruity, thanks to the delicious Nelson Sauvin hop.

On tap. Light orange body, with an average white head that diminishes slowly, leaving a fair lace. Faint hoppy aroma, not much going on here. Nice medium bitter taste, though. Thin bodied, oily texture, average carbonation. Expected more, not bad though.

Bottled. Pours clear golden in color with a small white head, leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Pine and citrus mostly in aroma. Feels pretty nice so far. Taste has some piney notes, notes of citrus - both fruity and just a bit of tartness, or perhaps better described as light notes of sour red berries is there underneath. Quite smooth, with a nice bittersweet fruity ending. Refreshing too. Another nice brew from Anchor Brewing.
