COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To commemorate an important milestone in Anchor Brewing’s long history, a special ale seemed appropriate. Having found and experimented with a very rare and unusual hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, we knew that its unique character would impart a wonderful flavor and aroma to a pale ale brewed especially for the occasion: Humming Ale.

Nice golden amber with a good head and lace. Taste has light malt at the beginning, but is more defined by sweet grass and piney hops. Once the hops enter, that flavor takes over through the finish (which is fairly long). Not very well balanced, lacking in flavor til the hops appear.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear golden with a lively off-white head. Sweet fruit, hops and a little phenols in the nose - or is it just the Nelson Sauvin that comes out this way? Fairly light in body, again slightly phenollic, a little caramel and a dry finish. Not the best take on a Pale Ale really. 140212

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. An American Pale Ale. Best thing America has ever done for the world is invent the APA. The malt is a little drier than normal, and the hops have a pleasant earthy edge. Adds a touch of interest to a style that while wonderful can become a little pedestrian. Refreshingly crisp, fresh and lively. Nice one.

12oz bottle shared with garthicus. Hazy orange amber with a decent drool of off-white head. Light aroma, floral/perfume bitterness and vague citrus juice. Taste - very nice -sweet, fruity and wort-y nicely balanced by sneaky-bitter pungent floral hoppiness, some alcohol- pretty solid! Average body, mild carbonation, a fairly long floral finish, with a dry pithy aftertaste. Quite a surprise.

Thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Slightly hazy, snow white head. Aroma: Not a lot of aroma yet quite pleasant, mild and hoppy with a hint of malt. Flavour: Lemon, nicely hopped, a hint of orange peel, quite refreshing, malty and a nice carbonation to it, simple but incredibly nice. Lovely hop finish.
