COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To commemorate an important milestone in Anchor Brewing’s long history, a special ale seemed appropriate. Having found and experimented with a very rare and unusual hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, we knew that its unique character would impart a wonderful flavor and aroma to a pale ale brewed especially for the occasion: Humming Ale.

Pours golden yellow with a nice cream colored head. Smells is very malty with some florals. Taste like loads of malts, light colored fruits and citrus hops. Fruits flavors are very present, but this ale remains very dry. Low bitterness. Med bodied. Easy drink in brew with good flavors.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance has a fairly clear burnt golden orange color body with a white one finger head. There was some light lacing that slid right on into the body. The smell had some light floral with just a touch spicy with underlying tropical notes. The taste was mild with a light bittersweet floral to spicy to grasp a light pine hovering over a some light toasty biscuit. There was a fairly decent lingering biscuit aftertaste that lead into a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat fairly light but also showed a decent aspect to make me think it could have sat at medium on the body. I’d say this was fairly sessionable and did have a decent carbonation to it. Overall, in my opinion, this is a good APA worthy of having again.

Bottle: Nearly clear, burnt golden body with a stark-white head; super chunky & nearly still sitting on top, lasting forever with lots of chunky lacing left behind. Aroma is a little floral, just a touch spicy with underlying tropical notes. mild tangerine, maybe a bit of white grape, & a notable dankness throughout. Taste is mild, but follows the aroma closely. A touch of pine, a bigger white grape taste that almost grows towards tart/vinous at times, but is held in check with herbal & mildly earthy undertones. Lingering white grape in the finish with a touch of white pepper spice. Mild malt foundation all around, a hint of toasty biscuit. I love this hop; it seems more tame in this beer than most, but this is a pretty tasty & super easy-drinker as a result.

Bottle 355 ml poured into a tulip. Thanks to Countbeer. ABV 5.9% Clear orange colour on the body, big and thick off-white head on top, with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, light malts, light citrus and hops, tropical fruits/ Nice taste, moderate hoppy, light malts, caramel, fruity. Light bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Overall a good beer, honest american pale ale.

Dunkelgoldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig fruchtig, hopfig, blumig. Geschmack leicht nach tropischen Früchten, malzig, leicht bitterer Abgang.

Aroma of light malts, tropical fruits, citrus, honey, a little caramel, light aromatic hops. Flavour is light malty sweetness with a medium bitter finish. Everything about this beer is rather ’light’. It’s an easy-going refreshing APA.
