COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To commemorate an important milestone in Anchor Brewing’s long history, a special ale seemed appropriate. Having found and experimented with a very rare and unusual hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, we knew that its unique character would impart a wonderful flavor and aroma to a pale ale brewed especially for the occasion: Humming Ale.

Bottled. A dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of yest, hops, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, yeast, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Papsoe (25085) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2012
Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear golden with a lively off-white head. Sweet fruit, hops and a little phenols in the nose - or is it just the Nelson Sauvin that comes out this way? Fairly light in body, again slightly phenollic, a little caramel and a dry finish. Not the best take on a Pale Ale really. 140212

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy orangeish golden colour, mediumsized white foamy longslasting head that leaves some lace. Aroma is rather fruity, grassy and quite sweet maltyness. Flavour is quite sweet fruity and floral notes along with caramel malts, some slight bready notes. Quite pleasantly balanced.

14th December 2010. At the Euston Tap with Harrisoni. Hazy gold beer with a little white head. Light dry palate. Very very dry. Reasonably balanced lagerish malt and some orange - grapefruit hop (would not have known this was Nelson). But the dryness is way too much and gets in the way - physically hard to get down!
