Pours light orange with a tightly-beaded paper white head that is thin but stubborn. Rings of whitecap lace adorn the glass. Pepper, marigolds, diacetyl, citrus zest, pinesap, vanilla, and ripe mango delight the nose. Crisp, crackery malt flavor, gently carbonated, with notes of peach, strawberry, and chocolate mints. Medium bodied and silky. Pleasant pit fruity aftertaste with a chickory bitterness. Smooth and sublime.

Aroma is herbal with some yeast. Beautiful golden color with a golden head. Flavor is citrus like and peppery. With a quick bite of the hops. Finish is malt that quickly turns to bitter hops.

I love all of the anchor beer’s I’ve tried, and this is no exception. Very smooth, with great, well rounded flavor.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bitter and spiced but yet quite soft. No wonder this is popular. Palate is a boost of bitter, complex flavors. Very nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice froth head with very slight lacing on a mildly cloudy orange pour. Perfumey hops in the aroma. GREAT citrusy (grapefruit) hops with some bitter piney hints in the flavor as well. Pretty nice APA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is my favorite Anchor beer so far. A very solid ale. Not as much hops as I would’ve expected from an A.P.A. but very good, well-balanced beer. This goes on my list of really solid American ales, right up there with the Rogue stuff I’ve been downing recently.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours slightly hazy gold with a 1/2 inch ivory head, lots of chunky lace. Smells of floral hops, bitter and lightly cirusy.
Taste is floral bitter hops up front. Tea leaf flavors. Crisp, lightly sweet pale malt. The citrus has disappeared. Not much to it but well balanced and a nice crisp mouth. I wouldn’t say it’s light bodied but relatively light on the tongue but stil full flavored. A well crafted treat that "goes down easy". This beer is a nice gateway drug for introducing people to hoppy beers, not off-putting like some pale ales can be.
