Very good! Bottle poured a gold yellow with a good head to start but faded fast, good lacing. This beer had a nice light aroma of hopps, with a flavor to match, light easy drinking hopps taste with a small tang bite at the finish.

Bottle. Golden color with a very slight haze. Head is thin and white, but long lasting. IPA, huh? Aroma is of floral hops and sweet malt, not nearly as hoppy as SNPA-which is not an IPA. Flavors of citric and grassy hops, quite pronounced, but not overbearing. Really doesnít seem like all Cascades to me. Still enough caramelly sweet malt in the background to carry this beer through the roller coaster of flavors that stops with a dry, spicy, slightly puckering finish. Moderate carbonation level from natural carbonation. I like this one better than other APAís(sorry for the style category dis) like SNPA and Summit EPA.

Just like someone else wrote below, I didnít know this was an IPA either. Some flavor, but nothing special.

Surprisingly good ale. Really enjoyed this. Quite heavily hopped, and I liked it! Nice color, nice head, nice lacing.

Light amber/orange in colour with a lasting white head. Big spicy and woody hop aroma with some citrus notes. Flavour is dry and bitter yet lots of citrus, grapefruit and woody hop notes help it out. Interesting though not what I was expecting.

Almost clear light amber. Head began a nice blanket that became rocky and then even and long lasting. Citrusy and bitter aroma that appeared to be a blend of American and floral hops--also some pine. Obvious caramel and butterscotch notes as well. Flavour was a journey that began with citrus/floral/pine hops, which continued to a caramel and butterscotch/toffee, and ended with a delicate wave of bitterness that was ascertive, but not astringent. Medium body and a bit puckering from the bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2004 This was my first ale from Anchor Brewing. The head formed nicely and left lacing down the glass. The aroma was rich with light amber color. The bitter taste of hops was well balanced. This was like a pale ale. I enjoyed this ale very much.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2005 Tap: The taste was not very impressive. Bitter but without good qualitys. It didnít really taste like an IPA strangely enough. It didnít know it was one. Bottle: Much better out of the bottle in my opinion. Citrus, graitfruit and caramel are present along with the recognizable Anchor malts. In the finish the caramel becomes more present. This is very good out of the bottle and not so good on tap because there is much more hop presense in the bottle and I am not sure why.

Slightly cloudy, honey body with some orange hues. Very big head of white bubbles. Stiff and lasts a long time. Smells of pine tree hops and light lemon. Very clean essence . Taste is lemony and pine hops with a sweet, malt backbone. buttery. This is a very good, above average beer but I will not say that it is excellent.
