3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught, at Rover.
Dark amber with white head, nice lacinga. Aroma and flavor of hops, notes of flower. Light bitter, long duration. Well balanced.

How cosmopolitan! An auusie finds this American beer in London. And it is an accessible beer! Oh well, I found it so it must be. This must be one of the old men of the APA stable, as I know I tried the steam beer and porter a long time ago. The colour starts out well, a good amber hue with nice creamy head. The hop aroma is well resented and it comes through well on the mouthfeel. Oh for a beer like this to be accessible down here.

I could drink this all day. Bitter and crisp, wonderful hop aroma. One of those brews that lets you know America kicks ass. The six pack disappeared quickly.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2005 White head that left nothing on the glass -- very bubbly, not foamy. Bronze color. Smell is a little hoppier than I expected. Flavor is pretty malty with a citrussy hops finish. Not much to it. I was disappointed, but then again, I was on anti-biotics when I had it. Iíve read this classified as an IPA. It is not. ratebeer.com has it as an APA, which sounds much better.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Gold color, with a respectable frothy head. Fresh, hoppy aroma. Some grapefruit-eske tangyness in the flavor. Wasnít sure what to expect since it was in a section of the LCBO seperated from what are typically the better brews, but itís really not at all bad.

I really like this beer, not a bad bite but full of flavor. Some better pubís carry it around here but not so many.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at The Tap House in Bellevue and many times in the past at Kinsale in NYC. Solid gold color. The aroma is grapefruit and citrus. Light bodied, dry and moderately carbonated. The flavors are nicely balanced between malt and grapefruit hops. The finish is a strong lingering bitterness. Although, itís not overwhelming. An interesting, good drinking beer.

Golden pour, with nice foamy head. Well carbonated. Hoppy aroma. Distinct bitterness on the tongue, with a crisp semi-dry finish. A fine ale.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice golden color. Good foam retention. Pronounced hop aroma, not over the top. Very nice malt is lightly sweet but comes clean and dry. Combined with the hops of this nice ale (cascade and northern brewer I would say) reminds me of grapefruit juice. Bright fruity flavor enhanced by that wonderful natural carbonation makes for a soft ride on the palate. Well balanced. A very fine traditional American ale.
