Pours orangish/dark straw, with a big white head and good lacing. Aroma of hops, malt, resin, oranges, and grapefruit. Tastes malty, very citrusy, with a nice hop presence, some fruit, spice, and floral notes. Very well balanced.

I often have thought this to be the quintessential APA - even over Sierra Nevada. It still might be, but on this tasting it wasn’t, but still scores very high. Large, lingering, rocky, off-white head that leaves a doily of lacing. Honey and white pine nose. Deep golden yellow. Hops evident throughout with perfect amount of over-balance of biiterness-to-malt-to alcohol.

It was immediately apparent that I had ordered a quality brew from its pleasant appearance, smooth hoppy taste and inviting aroma. It was the best beer I tried that night...

Mild, balanced, ultra-drinkable IPA. Does not knock you over the head with anything extreme. Slight fruity notes, mild and tangy malt, hops that are citric but not puckering. Session IPA. Score.

Big hoppy aroma, with some citrus. Peachy colour with a fluffy big head. Very good hoppy bitterness accompanied by an orange after taste. A really good pale ale and a fine example.

good. yeah. uhhhh. good. didn’t quite blow my mind, but the sort of burnt oak palate was intriguing enough to hold my attention. the aroma is fairly mild, but pleasing, the flavor is interesting, but still slightly common enough to still be able to relate to.

Tried this one in Feb. but forgot to rate. Pretty darn good beer. Grapefruit and pine nose,Medium bodied mouthfeel. Spices, citrus peel, and hops, hops, hops on the tongue. Not too shabby.

Poured a nice light copper color. Head was small and white. It didn’t last long. Nose is a flowery hop smell. The beer starts very sweet and finishes with just a slight hint of the hops I like. This is one of the better beers I have had from Anchor.

Light hoppy nose on top of a nice golden color. I don’t know if I fully agree with their claim that it’s a heavily hopped ale. Yeah, it’s hoppy and all, but nothing like some of the hop monsters that are out there. Overall it’s pretty good.

Aroma is slightly smokey and hoppy. Heavily and nicely hopped. Another good west coast hop beer. You would think the only ingredient in beers on the west coast is hops. Good stuff with a nice aftertaste mouthfeel. Not much flavor, but plently of bitterness. Good for bbqs and other outdoor events during the summer.
