3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MacMoney (326) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAR 2, 2011
Bottle. Pours the color of amber with a medium, white head. Aroma is rather skunky and a bit soapy. I was thinking that maybe a faulty bottle, but at least the taste was correct: Fruitiness strikes first, then mingles with biscuity maltiness as well as citrus, fades into floral hoppiness and finally into a long, piney and grapefruity aftertaste. Medium and dry mouthfeel with some carbonation. Very nice and quaffable.

35,5 cl bottle from a beer retailer. It pours an unclear pale amber liquid with a small white bubbly head, that somehow manages to last throughout the beer; a little lacing. The aroma is very complex: green olives, ripe pear, pale vinegar, citron, some yeast; the hops are doing their job. It tastes likewise, with more yeast than in the nose; really nice. It is tarty and a little sweet, and of course very bitter. In the mouth it feels lively carbonated, but nice; it slightly prickles the tongue. It ends long and dry. It gets better as you keep drinking. Very good APA, with a cool presentation (bottle and crown cap).

[355ml bottle, The Bottle, York] Pours a nice slightly dark golden colour with a decent pure-white fizzing head. Aromas of fresh citrus and pine, but mostly fruit. On the palate there’s a moderate to high level of carbonation, with a very nice lasting flavour of citrus and pine again, plus the slight toffeeish quality from the malt. Really lovely – I’d not tried this for a while and forgot how much I enjoy it. Definitely one of the ‘new session’ beers of the modern era (i.e. gone are the 10 pint 3.8% beers, and now our evening 11% IPA’s need a lesser option for the days when we want a few more – Liberty Ale fits the bill perfectly) [23022011]

tastes of an overmalted english beer, not a fan, too sweet and strong of molasses flavors

Golden pour, excellent head. Great bready nose. Great carbonation - bubbles stick around for the party. Awesome body, great fruitiness. Bitter on the back end, quite hoppy. One of my favorites - truly an outstanding beer!

A pretty good APA, good hoppiness, nice citrus bite, not quite as robust as the greats, but still very good.
