3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 improvjock (179) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 10, 2012
Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with fluffy white head. Floral hops in the aroma. Taste is of lightly sweet malts and fresh cascade hops. Very nice, a classic APA. I’m drinking a grown-up beer!
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AirForceHops (991) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 9, 2012
12 oz. bottle from Julio’s Liquors for $2.15. Gold color with an orange hue. Good head retention in the lager glass. Not much nose, when warm some bready malt. I notice that the yeast is the same as the Humming Ale I had yesterday. Perhaps the use the same stain in all there beers?? The flavor is dry and refreshing and has a nice Cascade hop finish. Nice APA.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 dumontn (423) - CHICAGO, Illinois, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Pours clear gold with decent retention. Aroma is somewhat vinegary, oxidative, with some caramel and minerals, resiny hops, very floral. Taste is same as smell, hard to believe this is made with Cascade hops though; floral, salty, some what minty, caramelly, cardboard-y. body is medium, below average carbonation, floral sweet-ish finish. Hard to believe this is an IPA but it is in fact probably much closer to the historical style than most contemporary American examples.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hazewee (10) - Andenne, BELGIUM - JAN 8, 2012
Beautiful nose. Very well balanced bitterness. Excellent easy drinking/refreshing beer.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ronaldtheriot (362) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Anchor Liberty Ale has a thick, creamy, off-white head and a little bit of lacing, with a mostly clear, orange-amber appearance and a few streaming bubbles. The aroma is of citrus and clean water, but it’s faint. Taste is of orange peel, bread, sweetness, and there is a strong hop bitterness here. Mouthfeel is fluffy and medium, and Anchor Liberty Ale finishes fairly dry. It is refreshing and crisp. Overall, this is a wonderful beer. RJT
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Thomasalias (82) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 5, 2012
0,355l bottle from Csakajósör, Budapest. Beautiful hazy pale orange color with creamy white head. Epic hoppy aroma like American IPAs. Resin, floral, fresh citrus and sruce. Fresh bitter taste. Medium body with sticky texture and lively carbonation. Long fresh hoppy finish. It’s a very good beer. Not so heavy hoppy like double IPAs like Raging Bitch, it’s soft and fresh and very delicious. Well dry-hopped!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Finhead (654) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2012
A pale orange pour with a large, frothy white head. The aroma is very nice with a mixture of pine and citrus. The medium body has a somewhat sticky texture with average carbonation. The taste begins bittersweet, then finishes dry with increased bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dresden (140) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - JAN 2, 2012
Pours a really nice orangey color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is a bit of fruit with some floral hops and malt. Really easy drinking and tasty APA. Pretty good dosage of hops in this beer.
