Nice looking bottle, but Anchor offers this pale ale that is instantly forgettable. Not much aroma and appearance isn’t anything to get excited about. Too watery. Nice spicy hops are in there. Okay for session.

12oz bottle pour. Light amber body with a white head. Not much retention or lacing. I’m getting some citrus hops in the nose, but not much in the flavor. Nice bitterness and a little breadiness in the finish. Overall, tastes a bit like Anchor Steam’s slightly hoppier cousin. Good everyday beer.

What a great, smooth beer...and the slope shouldered bottle is nice too. It’s a dignified beer for a casual drinker.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2011 Bottle. Pours a golden orange color, with a small white head. Aroma is of hops, caramel malt, citrus and floral notes. Flavor is of cascade hops, slight amount of grapefruit, citrus, fruits, caramel malts and floral notes. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a really good APA!
