3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mothman (120) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Pours a dark straw yellow. It is actually pale which is nice to see in a pale ale. Light off white head. Medium amount of lace observed.
Smell is of floral hops and oranges. Taste is quite similiar. Very heavy on the floral flavor and many citrus notes.
Mouthfeel is somewhat smooth, but leaves a very dry taste in your mouth, similiar to an IPA.
Overall, this is a pretty solid pale ale. When I opened it, I could immediately smell the hops and thought it was an IPA. Give it shot, it’s worth it.

More of an IPA. An enjoyable brew.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Opaque orange beer with vanishing white head. Nice grassy citrus hoppy aroma. Taste has caramelly maltyness and dry, bitter ending. Once again a great summer brew from the U.S.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Riotbeard (107) - Birmingham, USA - JUL 9, 2010
After hearing that Anchor was bought. I figured it was my duty to try all their brews just in case and man am i glad. I had Anchor Steam plenty before and enjoyed it, but I had not had it since becoming a beer nerd. Now Liberty Ale is up. This is really and IPA. It’s much hoppier than your average APA. Nose is pine, sages, and maybe almost hints of mint. Appearance is a pale orange. Taste is a bit malty on the front but a very bitter finish with hints of pine and citrus. Palate is full and creamy.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 inbirraveritas (712) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 6, 2010
Bottle from "Csakajósör"-store, Budapest.
Shows a deep golden with a nice, compact, laceing head and average/lively carbonation.
Smell of (citrus)fruit and hops.
Mouthfeel’s mild, flavour is of fruits and of biscuits.
The middle part is dominated of citrus and floral hops with some cereal notes in the background.
The finish is spicy, citric, bitter and dry which leaves in a good aftertaste.
Nice and pleasant ale.

(12 oz bottle). Pours dark yellow with orange hue and huge chunky white head. Aroma of resin, basement, citrus. Taste is bitter with subtle sweetness.Light bodied and somewhat thin. Carbonation is fizzy on the tongue. Finish is bitter, but not overpowering. Still a wonderful beer after all these years.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Metalchopz (1173) - Quebec, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
This being my second Anchor Brewery beer of the night (August 2004) I enjoyed, also being higher in alcohol. Poured a slight hazy golden-orange colour with a huge creamy head. Lacing left was thick and heavy. Tiny bubbles formed the low carbonation. I could smell a strong hop nose and very floral. The taste started bitter and had a smooth fruity finish. The bitter part was still lingering. Could also sense hints of grapefruit. A damn good pale ale !!
