Into a pint glass. Clear, medium straw color with two fingers of foamy head. Head held through the entire pint. Quite aromatic in the pour. Nice smelling bouquet of citrus and spruce. Big bitterness upfront, mellow sweetness in the middle, pine bitter finish and aftertaste. Silky crisp texture, low carbonation. Cannot go wrong with this one. It’s the benchmark of its style and of craft beer in general.

The smell is probably the best about this beer. Caramel, pine, banana - everything is mixed and everything goes right into your nose. The taste is a bit less interesting - quite flat, with a little bitterness.

Pours clear gold with large white head. Hoppy fresh aroma with heavy pine, citrus, a bit floral. Body has a delicious malt base with biscuits, dried fruit and flowers which is contrasted by a decent hop bitterness. The balance is absolutely perfect and the mouthfeel is very creamy. Long bitter aftertaste. Really impressive.

Bottle. Bright amber body with white head. Aroma is citrus with some alcohol and hints of bread. Taste is some honey with bread. Aftertaste is medium bitter with some herbs and alcohol. Classic.

While staying at my daughters place on holiday (Orange County) I thought would try plenty of local beers and secondly ’well thought of, multi rated’ beers of America that I had not drank before: this is one of those in the later category. Bottle on the balcony: 8th July 2014. Golden amber body with a full white head. I expected more of a hop blast to be honest, this was subdued and almost subtle in nature. Mildly citrus hops blended with some floral notes and a malty background in the nose and then on into the taste. Maybe having it side by side with a Victory Hop Devil did this beer no favours: even so this still didn’t carry enough character to merit a high score from me. I bit disappointed with a beer and brewery I have heard only good things about.

Aroma of yeast citrus. Surprisingly lacks of much taste, but really waterish and refreshing. One can also feel alcohol which is surprising form a 5,9%. Great bubbly palate. The color is golden with thin head. Quite a good ale for the summer!

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad vätska med tjockt skum. Blommig doft med en persikoantydan. Mycket fruktig smak med en skön beska.

Aroma: Medium-high hops, woody. Light spicy, some tea-like aromas. Light malt, bready. No DMS, No diecetyl. Appearance: Clear gold body. Massive frothy/rocky white head. Flavour: Malt: light, bready. Hops: high, woody. High bitterness, slightly harsh. Bitterness lingers into finish. Dry finish. No DMS, No diecetyl. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Light astringency, Medium carbonation, creamy. Overall: A decidedly bitter and hoppy beer, but the astringency and harshness is not to style. Otherwise great aroma and flavours. 355 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 14B. American IPA
