A good, quickly diminishing, head start this good beer of. A nice copper colour and a malty and slightly smoky flavour that’s well bitter.

Bottle conditioned, 355ml, From Sainsburys, Banbury. Clouded orange amber with slight head. Quite disappointed in this, not as hoppy, sharp as I expected, really fairly flabby. Sweetish malty base to the beer with a tea like slightly boiled, over extracted hop almost to oilyness. Vanilla, orange in the background flavours. Just about ok.

Light golden ale with a white compact head. Classic C-hops, floral aroma with resinous qualities. Malty base dominated by the hoppy grapefruits. Rich and smooth in mouth. Classic.

Bottle, from Hogsback store, at JF’s Calcutta Cup mini tasting - 02/02/13. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a decent sized bubbly white head that retains well. Nose carries hops, light grapefruit, citrus, ripe orange, pine, candyfloss. Taste comprises caramel malt, orange, sugars, citrus fruits, pine, grapefruit, grass. Medium in body, moderate carbonation, some bitterness in the finish, A decent solid APA.
