2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stine (1398) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JAN 4, 2007
Golden yellow color, lots of foam. Lots. Aroma is like pinesol, lemon, bathroom. Little bit of bready malt and some pine needle flavor. That pissy lemonade taste that occurs in some other heavy pale malt brews is dominant here. Not wretched but forgettable.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 littlecarp (135) - Redding, California, USA - JUN 3, 2007
Pours a darker gold with white head. Citrus, bitter aroma that is quite strong. Initially like biting into a grapefruit, like drinking an IPA. Finish is still mainly bitter. Medium palate. Not a favorite, but not bad quality.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Hammster (187) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - OCT 16, 2007
Mostly clear golden brown. Smaller off white head. Bitter and hoppy aroma. Taste is bitter apple and spice. Tart and dry finish. Disappointing.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2008 If this stuff is supposed to taste like freedom, freedom must be really boring. There’s not much that sticks out in the way of the flavor of this Pale Ale other then some of the hops. I am glad this beer clocked in at 6.0% because at least I could catch a good buzz off of it. I can’t believe it rated so high. For the money, you are much better off with a Sierra, or Sweetwater IPA
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Pipper (325) - Ohio, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Part of a 3 sampler, 10 cl poured into white wine glass at Birra Artigianle di Qualita in Milan. Very delicate impression of this beer: delicate spice/perfume/citrus aroma. Very light mouthfeel. Interesting because of its contrary nature as compared to the heavier beers I was sampling at the time but not one I would really want to revisit for a full pint over others.

Overall Impression:
**No notes on this old rating, so I will definitely have to re-rate, as I barely remember this one at all...

tastes of an overmalted english beer, not a fan, too sweet and strong of molasses flavors

smells like a cleaning product and has an unbelievably strong wheat taste. Drinkable, and while not that bad would not get it again

Pours a clear light golden color with a minimal head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Smell is slightly hoppy. Taste is crisp and hoppy. Not a hop-bomb, but decent in it’s own right. A sessionable beer, but nothing to get excited about.
