UPDATED: FEB 28, 2003 This quite possibly may be the finest smelling beers of all time. You don't need to drink it, just take a whiff. ReRate: Each time I drink this I like it more and more. I feel that Liberty is one of the finest American Pales. Orig - This is a terrifice pale ale - worth your try.

I tried this one a while back, but I liked it. I would drink it again if I could find it.

I love IPA’s so read on with a grain of salt. It is really hard to believe that this is a SanFransisco beer. Great bitterness, great color. The hops are played out to the hilt while still being a great drink. Starts bitter, finishes bitter, but never sour or tart. A non bloating beer that keeps you thirsty for more. Move over Brittania there’s a new ’Queen’ of IPA’s and ’she?’ hails from SanFransisco CA.

A top quality Liberty-very fresh and well handled (learn to decifer the "bottled on" code on the back). Great combination of hops and fruit in the nose; dry flavor with what was once a big hop finish. Now that we've all been broken by drinking over-the -top beers, this is almost a session beer, but one of the best around. Mmm...

Aroma of hops and a hint of malt. Pours a deep golden almost amber color. Tastes of hops hops and more hops. Leaves a sticky sweetness on the lips. Overall, a great beer.

This is my favorite IPA on the planet, ...now Mars makes some good ones, but we don’t rate them here. The beautiful pungency of the Cascade hops stay with you as you drink this beer. The head is cumulus thick, the color is straw yellow, and the tiny bubbles rush continously to the top of the beer. The apple sweetness arrives as the hop bitterness disappears. This beer is unique in it’s category, and is an incredible example of what can be done with this style.

Nice body, aroma,...the flavors!!! So many! This is the best beer made in America. My Flavorite, hands down.

Cask at the Wigan Beer Festival. Light gold/amber colour with a nice white head. Very floral aroma with that Cascade grapefruit touch. Very bitter with more grapefruit. Wonderful balance with the maltiness coming through along with a bitter finish. Superb stuff.

(Bottle) Clean, crisp, light, cool. The aroma doesn’t strike me as terribly complex when I just smell it, but when I start drinking it a lot of complexity emerges. Pleasantly dry, very bitter, just the right kind of carbonation to balance the aroma. A hint of sourness but none of the unpleasant type. A rich, coarse maltiness. This is the second-best American Pale Ale that I’ve tried...surpassed in my opinion only by Great Lakes’ Burning River, although that is a very different beer (this beer is more dry and has less citrusy/fruity character of the hops).
