Pours a bit paler than most IPAs. Smell is cleaner and less bitter than your average IPA. More piney, less grapefruit/citrus. Taste is similar in that its not your average IPA. Its more crisp and less overwhelmingly bitter. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but this is expected. This isn’t my favorite beer, but I didn’t expect it to me. It’s not bad.

355ml bottle at home. Clear golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Well balanced sweet- and bitterness. Malts, caramel, citrus, grass, pine, herbs and banana. A nice tasteful and refreshing pale ale.

35,5cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours deep golden to amber with a slightly creamy off-white head. Mild malty aroma with fruity and hoppy notes, citrus, caramel and hints of herbs. Moderate to medium sweet with fruity and herbal flavours and a moderate bitter and slightly dry finish. Decent APA, but not as refreshing as I remembered it.

Famous ale launched in 1975 to remember Paul Revere’s ride in 1775. Creamy, sticky head, warm orange blonde colour; delicate aroma, fresh fruitiness (peach, orange), soft sweet malt taste with fruity and citrussy accents and a long finish of dry-hopping with Cascade, very pleasant. Flawless and perfectly balanced, this lived up to the expectations I had of it.

The smell is probably the best about this beer. Caramel, pine, banana - everything is mixed and everything goes right into your nose. The taste is a bit less interesting - quite flat, with a little bitterness.

Amberish golden in color. Good head. Nice lacing. Hoppy aroma with a pine hint. Hoppy taste with a citrus taste. Finish is a bitter hop. Good Beer.

Pours clear gold with large white head. Hoppy fresh aroma with heavy pine, citrus, a bit floral. Body has a delicious malt base with biscuits, dried fruit and flowers which is contrasted by a decent hop bitterness. The balance is absolutely perfect and the mouthfeel is very creamy. Long bitter aftertaste. Really impressive.

While staying at my daughters place on holiday (Orange County) I thought would try plenty of local beers and secondly ’well thought of, multi rated’ beers of America that I had not drank before: this is one of those in the later category. Bottle on the balcony: 8th July 2014. Golden amber body with a full white head. I expected more of a hop blast to be honest, this was subdued and almost subtle in nature. Mildly citrus hops blended with some floral notes and a malty background in the nose and then on into the taste. Maybe having it side by side with a Victory Hop Devil did this beer no favours: even so this still didn’t carry enough character to merit a high score from me. I bit disappointed with a beer and brewery I have heard only good things about.
