Fairly light orange-copper pour and nice little foamy head. Orange, hops, and a little metallic bite on the nose. Nice hop bitterness and great lingering flavor. This beer just screams freshness to me, which is why I like it so much. Probably also some sense memory in that it was the first beer that took me beyond the big guys (Sam Adam’s, Pete’s Wicked) when I first started drinking beer 10 years ago. This was the one that made me really start paying attention. Great beer.

Oct 12, 2008 Bottle. Thick head, very clean citrus hops nose and flavor. Fills the mouth with those lovely citrusy sweet Cascade hops goodness, though mild. Really refreshing. I don’t know why I don’t buy more of this stuff.

Oct 10, 2008 Heavy head that lasts awhile. Rather active carbonation but dead and dull taste that was too malty/yeasty. sour grass, fermented grain, olive oil. dry finish. reminded me of the Steam beer, which I’m no fan of.

Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Golden light colour. Good white head. Aroma of hops and malts with a touch of citrus. Great balanced. Sweet beer with a sophisticated grapefruit bitterness in the after taste.

Oct 3, 2008 medium off white head, light copper colour. citrus and pine in the nose. flavour is malty with plenty of hops, very enjoyable. Easy to drink but still very interesting, a great pale ale.
