7 fl oz 1996 vintage bottle from mashmaster, thanks man...I mean really thanks for this gem!!!! Ok when I poured this one I couldn’t believe it was 12 years old...it poured a very murky brown like a classic BW but with a very active bubly off white/light beige head that left a good amount of lace. Aroma is magnificiant, carael..toffee..raisins..butterscotch and vanilla.., slight touh of alcohol and wood. Palate is shot on this one..totally smoth with no carboantion despite what the head would leave you to believe. Flat lifeless not much else to say. Flavor is malt forward and nice, caramel, toffee, doughy bread and raisin. I could sniff this one all night but alas not many of us have the ourtunity to sniff 12 year old vinatge barleywines so I am spoiled.......still I sniffed a lot.

Powerful nose with raisins, musk, some metal and some vanilla. Pours muddy brown with a quickly disappearing beige head. Flavour is pure barley wine pleasure - rich and vinous with big fat honey malt in the front. Underpinning hoppiness is subtle but there enough to prevent it being sickly. Finish is long, fresh, and intensely moreish.

Getting notebook online. Bottle. Pours a ruby red. Spice on the nose with some sugary fruits. Lots of sweet flavors of raisins and figs and caramel. Very smooth and drinkable. High alcohol very subtle. Tasty.

12 oz bottle via Liquid SOl. Pours a CLEAR copper with a huge dense beige head. Nose is vanilla, chocolate and citrus. Tastes like it smells with an added dimension of fruity esters, berries and almonds. Phenols are present but are kept in check for the most part... Body is full, CARBONATION JUST right. A well-done balanced english style barleywine...

bottle from Kingdom, fairly smooth and but thought it would stand out a bit more based on the rating. As described but not special to me.

Bottle. Pours carbonated with nice ruby-brown color and pretty good off-white head. Hints of raisins and caramel, hops bitterness lingers in finish. Not overly malty or hoppy, nice balance. Pretty smooth, a great barley wine.

A clear red/bruin colored ber, with a small beige head. The aroma is freas, dark caramel malts, some sweet. There are hops. Also fruits. The taste of light chocolate, with fruits like berries, raisans. A little bit of some coffee candy. The aftertaste is bittersweet. When the beer gets warmer, there is a little sherry/porto taste.

12oz bottle. Deep red-brown with a lasting head. Fruity, toffee, candy, jelly... nice aroma. Sweet, caramel, intense fruitiness, light hops, light bitterness This is really tasty, and much more drinkable than most barley wines that I’ve had. Full bodied, but not sticky or too chewy like some. Smooth to the max.
