RSRIZZO (987), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 16, 2007 Had on 10/27/1998. Color is a medium brown with light red tones. Carbonation and head are low. Aroma is strong with that sweet malty wine like scent that you find in most Barley Wines. Taste smooth and rich with a slightly nutty taste. It starts with a medium / light body which is lighter than I though it would be. It goes down very smooth with a rich malt taste and a sweet feel. The finish is wonderful as a slight hop flavor and light bitterness balance off the sweet malt flavor, leaving you with a full flavor lingering though out your mouth. Although it is very rich it is still light enough and well balanced to be very drinkable.

Flavor is dark fruits, some caramel sweetness. Malty. Smooth barleywine. Juelze (668), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours a ruby color with medium sized off-white head. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, notes of fruit and molasses. Taste is of cherry cough syrup, caramel, brown sugar and alcohol. This is a bit of a brash off a barley wine which will need some she to be great. Still, not bad. NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 Sweet and syrupy with big caramel malt flavors and aroma. Alcohol warmth is noticable. Seems like a really strong Scottish ale. Definitely not for me.
