A clear red/bruin colored ber, with a small beige head. The aroma is freas, dark caramel malts, some sweet. There are hops. Also fruits. The taste of light chocolate, with fruits like berries, raisans. A little bitte. Some coffee candy. The aftertaste is bittersweet. When the beer gets warmer, there is a little sherry/porto taste.

12oz bottle. Deep red-brown with a lasting head. Fruity, toffee, candy, jelly... nice aroma. Sweet, caramel, intense fruitiness, light hops, light bitterness This is really tasty, and much more drinkable than most barley wines that I’ve had. Full bodied, but not sticky or too chewy like some. Smooth to the max.

12 ounce bottle dated April 07 in pint glass. Reddish amber with ring head. Sweet cherry port aroma. Sweet brown sugar ripe cherry with medium bitterness. Medium-full body and low carbo. Nice sipper. I’ve loved this one for a long time, but now I prefer a more aromatic and hop flavored barleywine like Bigfoot or Old Ruffian.

Old Foghorn is first off, a great name for a barleywine. Second, Andy Musser from the Phils ol’ broadcasting team pours it at the Kennett Brewfest. Third, it is one of my favorite barleywines period, plenty of ripe fruit, malt backbone, but not port like. Super fantastic beer - highly recommended.
