Bottle. Pours rich amber, with a fizzy, quickly dispersing small tan head. Aroma is very malty and sweet with caramel, nuts, and alcohol. Flavor is dry hoppy, malty (hint of cherry-type flavor). Hops are there, but not overdone. Very pleasant, and not one of those IIPAs with a barleywine label.

Oct 10, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep red-brown with a lasting head. Fruity, toffee, candy, jelly... nice aroma. Sweet, caramel, intense fruitiness, light hops, light bitterness This is really tasty, and much more drinkable than most barley wines that I’ve had. Full bodied, but not sticky or too chewy like some. Smooth to the max.

Oct 8, 2008 12 ounce bottle dated April 07 in pint glass. Reddish amber with ring head. Sweet cherry port aroma. Sweet brown sugar ripe cherry with medium bitterness. Medium-full body and low carbo. Nice sipper. I’ve loved this one for a long time, but now I prefer a more aromatic and hop flavored barleywine like Bigfoot or Old Ruffian.

Oct 7, 2008 Old Foghorn is first off, a great name for a barleywine. Second, Andy Musser from the Phils ol’ broadcasting team pours it at the Kennett Brewfest. Third, it is one of my favorite barleywines period, plenty of ripe fruit, malt backbone, but not port like. Super fantastic beer - highly recommended.

Oct 6, 2008 Bottle, picked up at Bellingers Jet Garage, Grove Nr Wantage,Oxon, consumed 06-10-08 Pours brown but a bit ruby reddish as well, white head, looks good. Some dark sticky fruits on the nose, predominantly figs and dates but also some raisins, bit Christmassy I suppose. Taste is sweet, malty and those dark fruits show again but backed up with a big dose of alcohol, really quite nice but not as good as I expected.
