wyzzywyz22 (210), Wirral, Merseyside, England Apr 27, 2008 Bottle, Beers of Europe. Dark copper colour, no real head. Aroma is malty with some raisin and hops. Flavour is similar; syrupy sweet, rich and nutty. This style is pretty new for me, and I’m not completely sold.
cstuartj (240), Washington, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep bright amber, with a small tight head. laced well on the glass. nose is strong dark over ripe fruit, sweet and caramels. It pours a deep amber beer with a nice creamy beige head. Mince pie, nutmeg, berries, plums and raisins accompanied by licorice in the nose. Beautiful lacing. Wonderful taste with notes of berries, mince pie and plums. Full bodied and perfectly balanced. The alcohol is well hidden. Surprisingly hoppy finish.
