leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 31, 2003 Dark brown color. The aroma is a nice mix of nutmeg, cinnamon, and a mucho amounts of other spices. Somehow it works along with tones of dark chocolate and coffee. Not as complex when tasted. Mostly coffee like flavors, some dark chocolate, and minor tones of spice. Found the finish to have a metallic, coffee bitterness that wasn't particularly enjoyable. Sassy (217), Mullet Capital of the World, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2003 Very dark and tastes like some stong gingerbread -- minus the sugar -- with bitter coffee taste at end. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Dec 31, 2003 strong smell of nutmeg and cinnamon. very dark color. aftertaste of coffee which i don't particularly enjoy JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Dec 30, 2003 good aroma of cinnamon and spices. Dark brown with a dark brown head. Flavors of spice, bitter coffee, and malt. A little thin. good ztrvz (218), st paul, Minnesota, USA Dec 30, 2003 tasty and pleasant. seems to be a good sipper. rich and malty with plenty of spices. this would probably go well with sugar cookies. Silphium (2114), Haslett, Michigan, USA Dec 30, 2003 Ahhh, anise! Poured dark red-brown, with a thin light tan head. Strong spice (anise) aroma deterred my tastebuds. Some malt complexity in the flavor, including hints of chocolate and coffee, but the anise is too strong. mribm (419), Hurley, New York, USA Dec 28, 2003 Bottle. This was a little better than past years, due to the fact that it was thinner and not as overpowering with the spices. This was one of the better OSA's that I have tried. Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA Dec 28, 2003 Pours a deep brown, with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet and spicey. Clove and cinnamon. Orange, caramel, and chocolate are also noticable. This was a nice seasonal brew.
