Light aroma of Christmas trees. Very dark brown allowing light in only around the edge of the glass. rich golden brown starting head that quickly disapears leaving a minor ring around the edge of the glass. Initial shocking spruce and medicinal taste. Finish of delicious mixed spices: cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Very nice body and a taste that grows on you with each sip and bottle. Surprising strong malt and supressed sweetness. Malt sugars remain in the mouth hours after the beer is gone.

Cloves and nutmeg. Hint of orange to the taste. Not too sweet. More flavorful as it warms.

Bottle thanks to paistie2002. Shared with the Dallas Crew. Pours with a small off-white head over a brown hazy body. Good lacing. Aroma of currants, leather, bread, raisins and toffee. Taste is oxidized with some notes of raisins, bread and brandy. Light carbonation and a bit thin.

Very, very dark brown, nice creamy, long-lasting biege head. Spicy, roasty and slightly soapy aroma. Flavour of cinnamon, raisin, chocolate with hints of lemon. Dry mouthfeel.

Bottle. Dark brown with maybe a hint of a ruby finish. The head is small, tan, and goes away quickly. Aroma is of xmas spices mixed with a slight bitter hop. There is a smooth malt flavor and is very easy to drink. There's a sweet vanila/licorice taste It ends with a slight roastiness that lingers and leaves a mild cloyingness (smooth up until that finish). Good but not great.

Brown color with a medium head. Interesting aroma of spices and gingerbread. Very spicy gingerbread flavor with maybe some smoked malt. Feels like a true winter beer with its spicy character, very well done.

This beer seems a little more different from the 2002 version than the 2002 version was from the 2001 version to me. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium light brown head. Thin and slow lacing. Nice woody aroma of roasted malt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Somewhat rich with a lot of ginger in the flavor, along with malt, nutmeg and other spices. The finish is a little on the bitter side. Overall this is probably the best OSA I have tried, and I imagine this one would be even better if it aged a bit.
