jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Dark brown with ruby highlights and a decent sized tan head. Atroma is of pine, toffee, toast, and spicy hops. Flavor is of pine, spices, caramel and malt. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jan 31, 2009 2008 version had back in December. Poured from a 12-oz bottle into a pint glass a dark amber color. Aroma was sweet and spicy. Taste of cinnimon and nutmeg along with what seemed like citrus. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA Jan 30, 2009 2008. Dark Mahogany color. 2 finger light brown head. smells pretty good, Taste...meh...getting a lot of spices. but not much else, malt and hops seem to cancel each other out. This is a good beer, just not that memorable for me. thin mouthfeel and low to no carbonation. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jan 27, 2009 2008, bottle. Pours clear dark brown with an average, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), average hops (flowers, herbs, spruce), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of plum, licorice, and nutmeg. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness. bobinlondon (786), Harrow, Greater London, England Jan 27, 2009 On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London. Labled as Merry Xmas and 8% abv. By taste it was obviously nothing like that strength. I could find no record of sush a beer anywhere on the net so I am assuming this identity. Deep brown with an off white head. Toffee malts with a restrained hoppy finish and a vague spicy hint. Nothing special at £7 a pint! smaynard6000 (66), New Castle, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 26, 2009 Pours a very dark brown color, almost back, with a frothy beige head. Very sharp flavor of holiday spice with a pine-ish finish. Medium body. Not my favorite style. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Jan 25, 2009 Deep brown body with some clarity. Head barely hangs on. Deep in color and character. Wine-ish. Not a favorite. Finish improves it for me, but still less than what I expected from both the brewer and the style.

Poured a deep dark red-brown. A medium frothy light tan head. Lots of cinnamon and clove on the nose. Definitely a Christmas smell. Light spruce and cinnamon flavors at first. A nice hidden chocolate flavor detected as well. Has almost a Coke flavor too it, yeah definitely. Mouth is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Have some more of these aging to compare.
