3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2011 Bottle (2008, fresh). Pours deep brown with a beige head. Malty sweet aroma with apple, nutmeg, and spices. The flavor is lightly sweet and toasty, with spices, fruit, chocolate, and a hint of burnt wood. Very good. 8/4/8/3/15 = 3.8
Bottle (2008, 1 year old) Deep cola brown with a thin beige head. The aroma has nutmeg, other spices, and a sweet fruity hint. The flavor has some sweet fruity (almost cherry) and toffee like notes, nutmeg, and toast. A very slight hint of sourness seems like itís creeping up, but really doesnít diminish much from the overall flavor. I have another bottle of this aging that Iíll try next winter so weíll see where it goes. 8/4/7/3/15 = 3.7
Bottle. (2008, 2 years old). Pours dark brown with a beige head. The aroma has toffee and spices with some port like notes. The flavor has a little bit of sweetness, toffee, dark fruits, spices, oxidized notes, and some toasty malty notes. I donít mind the oxidation, itís not overpowering, but Iím guessing another year wouldnít help this. Who knows. 8/4/8/4/15 = 3.9

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark clear brown with good head. Head retains. Cakey malt aromas. Clean chocolate taste, a little banana and cinnamon. Aftertaste lingers with mostly the hops on the back of the tongue. Reminds me a lot of Theakston's Old Peculiar.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle share taster. 2007. Clear amber. Aroma is dates, nutmeg, cinnamon, bread. A liquid fruit cake. This is 6 years old? Taste is sweet and a tiny bit of sour. A touch of paper lingers, but for the most part, this holds up like a champ.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown color. Modest head. Slight malt and cinnamon aroma. Taste is malty with hint of chocolate and cinnamon. Finish is clean. A little disappointed, for beer this dark in color the palate texture is a bit thin. Not bad, but not great.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aromas sumamente interesantes, y los cuales te hacen saber que estŠs ante una gran cerveza.
Color obscuro, profundo, turbia.
En el aroma las principales notas son herbales destacando notas a pino.
Al paladar el pino vuelve a hacerte presente, junto con notas especiadas.
En general excelente cerveza.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
mahogany colour with reddish notes; moderate, but still present brownish head; aroma of herbs, caramel, dried fruits and honey, taste is the same with some roastedness...to be honest, it is very similar to a coke, appears like a coke, smells like a coke, tastes like a coke...and somehow still much more than a coke-like beer; I like it

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 2013. Pours a dark amber. Pine, citrus, and cinnamon on the nose. A ton of great pine and buttering herbal qualities. Great tasting and warming with a dry finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2013 bottle to mason jar, abudent spices (allspice, cardamom, nutmeg) dominate the nose. Pour is dark cola with hints of red when held up to the light, thick tan pillowy head. I donít know if itís just in my head but this year really taste like cola + with touches of the aforementioned spices on the nose. Overall I would say, this isnít bad, but it doesnít knock my socks of either. It feels undecided to me.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is a 12 oz bottle from the 2013 batch. I havenít had the others so canít comment in comparison. Pours out a dark brown with a chocolate head that reminds me of many porters Iíve had, but with slight red tint. Nice big pillowy foam. Even once the foam had gone away there wasnít much to the aroma to note, some roastiness and a little wine-like yeast stood out. Sweet with sort of a bittersweet chocolate fruityness. However the spices are very distracting, itís like accidentally getting all the spices youíd use making gingerbread dough all up in your nose. Very light mouthfeel with a surprisingly strong alcohol flavor for 5.5%. Call me a grinch but I just ainít digging these spiced winter seasonals.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
2013 bottle, very dark red colour, almost stout like. The aroma is dominated by gingerbread and some dark fruits. The taste is similarly spicy with some hints of roasted malts and brown sugar with some spruce in the back.
