COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Recommended by Chipalsa. Thanks! This one was awesome with nice hits of chocolate and caramel on the nose. Some metallic sweetness too. The body was thick and dark with a solid milk chocolate colored head and lacing. Flavors abound, consisting of milk chocolate, roasted coffee, sweet caramel, cherry, and plum. Excellent malt profile with a touch of bitter at the end. Quite smooth too. Excellent

Pours black with a thin off white head. Nose is bitter chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Texture in the mouth is quite thin and flavour is predominantly bitter chocolate and coffee. Finish is roasted bitterness.

Pours black from bottle with a half an inch of khaki foam. Some notes of roasted malt on the nose. Slightly thin mouthfeel. It doesn’t exactly fill my mouth with flavor. Some notes of caramel on the tongue. Finishes clean. I’m not quite sure where the acclaim comes from for this one.

Bottle. Pours a deep black color, foamy head. Smells of chocolate, malt and cocoa. Taste is not overly sweet or heavy, has a crispness at the end. Really enjoyed this brew a lot.

Wow :-). Poured a nice pitch black with a hint of brown in direct light. The enormous off-white head gave it a very delicious appearance. Smelled thick of sweet milk chocolate, lightly roasted coffee and some lingering hops. Tasted extravagant; Notes of creamy smooth chocolate, with hints of roasty coffee, raisins and bitter cocoa overflowed the senses with satisfaction. The finish was a little earthy, while the bitterness of cocoa lingered and taunted you for another sip. One of, if not the best porters I’ve ever had!

Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and bitter finish. 291108
