COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

35,5cl bottle from Alko. Poured black with a creamy frothy brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, licorice, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is roasted, sligtly burnt malt, some vanilla and licorice. Very dry and burnt in finish. Incredibly smooth, full bodied porter. Amazing porter.

Bottle. great; more nutty than coffee taste, nice molasses like taste. Body is a bit thin. Can easily put back several in one sitting. Not as good as Edmond Fitzgerald.

Pours nearly black with a nice thick fluffy light tan head. Good retention and lacing as well - I’d have to give it a top score for appearance. Aroma is a pleasant sweet mix of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and some caramel. Taste is quite similar to the aroma, more on the sweet side with coffee, chocolate and caramel coming through primarily. Mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. An excellent beer that I’d be happy to drink anytime.

Anchor Porter on musta olut, jonka päälle muodostuu beige vaahto.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with some reddish tints, a thick, large latte head. Roasted malts and chocolate in the aroma, some coffee and liquorice. Much of the same in the taste. Very smooth and balanced. Excellent.
