San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Musta olut, suklaisella tuoksulla. Maussa suklaata, pehmeyttä, loistava porter, ei liian vahva.

Pours dark brown with a big light brown head. Rich aroma of prunes, raisins, bread, toffee, dark bread crust, smoke, hints of chocolate and coffee. Perfectly balanced taste. Creamy texture, medium carbonation and body. Amazing, one of the best porters I’ve tried.

Bottle. Great looking pour, deep dark brown with a foamy light tan head that stays, nice lacing. Rich roasted malt and chocolate aroma, faint nut and citrus. Lovely strong roasted flavour, savoury, chocolate biscuits. Medium feel, very bitter, lingering roast. You think you may have overrated a beer from your formative years, then you find out it’s just as delicious as ever. Must drink more often.

Dark brown with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with notes of liquorice and nuts. Flavour of coffee and chocolate, with notes of liquorice, that ends up with a nice bitterness. One of the best porters I’ve had.

Dark brown/red pour, almost black with tan head. Aroma of medium roast malt and toast. Taste is sweet roast malt with very mild bitter finish. Light for a porter, but enjoyable.

Apr. ’16. A 0.355 l bottle that poured a hazy brown, copper hued body with a small to medium sized head. Really fine licorice aroma along with typical roasted malt like coffee, touch of dark fruits and caramel. Flavor was balanced with sweetness and roasted malt. Medium to thin in body with a nicely rounded finish full of cocoa, dark chocolate and toffee. Might have missed a little bit of body, but it was still an enjoyable porter.

Color negro casi opaca, espuma de carácter jabonoso y retención media. Regaliz, algo de café, frutos negros. Equilibrio entre malta y amargo final considerable, se nota algo ácida.
