COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Piwo butelkowe. W aromacie rodzynki, przypieczony spód od ciasta, wanilia, czekolada, kawa, po prostu bomba. Kolor czarna smoła z lekkimi refleksami. Piana. Piana to poezja, drobniutka i mocno zbita niczym bita śmietana, przecudny lacing. W smaku cappucino, belgijska czekolada, lekka śliwka/wiśnia w likierze. Piwo gęste, pełne, o kremowej konsystencji, o średnim perfekcyjnie pasującym wysyceniu i przyjemnym słodkawym rodzynkowym finiszu. Dla takich piw warto żyć.

Pours opaque brown-black with fizzy tan head and legs. Smells of dark, sweet, roasted, smoky malt. Raisin, ashy tobacco, leather, dark fruits (berries, blackcurrant), some hay/grass and yeast, boozy and sweet like a dessert wine but balanced by smokiness and hint of coffee bitterness. Tastes of sweet dark malt, some earthy/mineral bitterness, quite sharp acidity. Body is thin but relatively creamy and slick, citrus/burnt malt acidity, bitter finish. Lots of big complex flavours in this one, though I’d personally like it much more if it had less raisiny sweetness and more coffee/bitterness. Still a great porter.

BaroneBirra (262) - Gorizia, ITALY - NOV 1, 2014
Pours almost black with small tan head. Faint aroma of black malts. Rich taste, characterized by roasted malt but well balanced. Medium body, oily texture. Carbonation too high, but maybe due to incorrect pouring. Seems more alcoholic than 5.6

Great porter, appearance is dark oil with tan head, aroma brings slight mocha and toast. Smooth and approachable-classic porter

12 ounce bottle. Dark translucent brown color with reddish highlights. Big rocky tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma has notes of dried fruit, coffee and floral hops. Sweet roasted malt flavor is rich and complex with notes of chocolate, coffee and toasted nuts. Chewy and thick with a creamy mouthfeel. Rich and earthy with complex layers of malt and hop flavors. This is truly one of the best American made porters I have ever tasted. Very drinkable.
