COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Perfect aroma of roasted coffee beans and toffee. Great, thick, tan head with a lace that lasts for a good while. Chocolate notes in the begging, but it gets more complex after a few sips, which results in a liquorish taste that lasts through the palate. Great, artisanal porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz Bottle. Appearance is dark caramel color with loads of beige head. Aroma is malty, coffee, and some herbal notes. Taste is dominated by sweet, caramel malts, coffee with a anise bitterness. Palate is medium-bodied, very smooth texture, and a bitter finish. Ok Porter but was slightly put off by the heavy licorice taste.

Bought this to use in my winter stew. Kept some by for tasting. Really nice malty aromas, smooth and easy to drink. Nice.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This is the best porter I have ever had. An incredibly smooth flavor and texture. You cannot go wrong g with this beer

Not bad but not my favorite porter. Has a licorice like aftertaste. Probably would not get again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
