San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Prachtig bijna zwart bier met een mooie stevige schuimkraag. Geur van caramel. Smaak met drop en caramel, lekker bitter en wat zoet. Gedronken @home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gęsta, beżowa i obfita piana otula czarną z rubinowymi refleksami ciecz, ładnie krążkując szkło. W aromacie przyjemne palone nuty, czuć piernik, wiśnie w czekoladzie, rum, orzechy. Czuć tu też chmielowe akcenty w postaci czerwonych owoców i ziół, da się też wyczuć lekko winne zapachy. Smak jest wyborny, lekko słodki, truflowy, fajnie kontruje to spora czekoladowo-palono-chmielowa goryczka, jest nawet odrobina wiśniowej kwaskowości, ale dominuje piernik, czekolada, kawa, likier śliwkowy. W posmaku suszone ciemne owoce, ciemny winogron, likierowy alkohol i pestkowa goryczka. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego, treściwość dość wysoka, ale dość pijalne (z uwagi na wytrawny finisz i niewysoki alkohol).

Brown head, black beer carbination. Smell & taste of chocolate in a chocolate milk like way, Some water and at times some hop bitterness and roastness. A tad little sourness like what is tasted in a milk stout. Not bad, but not fantastic. Cheer’s!

Bière amère. Avec un arrière goût qui dure longtemps et qui évolue. Bière qui ne pétille quasiment pas. Un peu plus légère qu’un stout

Aroma of sugar cane sweetness. Somewhat reminding me kasteel bruin. Quite light in the mouth but still interesting progression between first and aftertaste. Slight dirt-like aftertaste.

355ml bottle. Pours a dark, dark, dark brown with a large head of fine tan bubbles. Looks beautiful. Black licorice, dried dark fruits, brown sugar, coffee, and dark rye breads on the almost Dubbel-like nose. Taste wise, lots of black licorice up front, with a light menthol note, bitter coffee, and treacle that leads into molasses, dark bread crust, dry mineral notes, with prune, and a taste that makes me think of plum skin in the finish. So many Beligan dubbel-like notes. It’s like a porter/dubbel hybrid. I love it. One hell of a porter.

Bue en bouteille de 355ml. Brun foncé puissant. Malt torréfié, café, et grillé au palais. Finale à peine alcoolisée. Good.
