3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very dark almost opaque brown with a one finger tan head that dissipates leaving heavy lacing. Roasted malt flavor with some caramel. Mild herbal hop presence. Slightly smokey. Full body with medium carbonation that is not at all overwhelming. Long, mildly sweet, almost bourbon finish. This is fantastic.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark, dark fruits followed by some bitter chocolate. Like a dry Fruits of the Forest Gateaux. A ludicrously luscious porter. Smooth as a snooker ball & black as a moonless night.

Tap at the Brewhouse, Sheffield. Clear, chestnut brown. Thin, tan head. Can’t imagine I can add anything that’s not already been said. A lovely porter. Smooth. Fruity. Dry. Good stuff

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Famous American porter with deeply beige (almost brown) foam, thick and creamy, and a near to black colour with a copperish hue. Rich malty aroma, chocolatey and caramel-like with lots of dark fruits and appetising spicy notes; taste likewise, a deep, soft, mellow, almost buttery dark maltiness, caramel and chocolate, dark fruits, finish toasted bitterness with an oily, vinous mouthfeel - or should I say, throatfeel. Absolutely delicious, a pity it’s hard to get in Western Europe, otherwise I’d have this every week.

Very dark brown with stable, beige head. Aroma has chocolate and caramel, roasted malt also. Flavour has brown sugar and discrete, vinous alcohol. Good one.

Deep brown beer with some ruby high lights.
A large foamy head that’s a nice taupe color and very dense.
A rich roasted malt aroma.
Complex roasted malt taste that has hints of chocolate and espresso followed up with a nice jolt of hop bitterness.
A nice rich mouthfeel with a dry finish smooth .
