COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Light aroma with a little roast. Full mouth. Taste has hints of copper and sweet roast. Slight bitterness. Something was a little off in this bottle. Pretty plain beer in my opinion, but not terrible.

Pours a very beautiful deep black color and is covered wit ha decent tan colored head that stays around for some time. The aroma is slighty roasted, some fruits also present. The taste starts with a nice bitterness and is followed by slightly roasted body, lots of coffee. Finishes with a decent bitterness. Not my favourite Anchor, but very nice nad easily enjoyable.

Porter squisita, decisamente sopra la media, con note intense di cioccolato, caffé, malti tostati e estremamente piacevole da bere. Una volta su questi lidi californiani, non puoi che gettare l’ancora e restarci!!

Very nice Porter. Not very strong but with the right amount of coffee. The roasted malt prevails over the coffee flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle. Very dark brown color. Massive brown head, stays. Sweet, peppermint, hops, syrup, roast, flowers in aroma. Nice roast, malty, faint hops, chocolate, coffee in taste. Very well balanced and easy to drink. Long lasting chocolaty roast in aftertaste.

Black beer with huge blonde cloudy head. Aroma has surprisingly lots of dark fruits up front, like a dubbel. Underneath are more typical porter aromas like roasted malts, licorice and loafy bread. Flavor is loafy bready, roasty and licoricy with dark fruits and apple sidenotes. Has medium bitterness on the finish, leaves a licoricy aftertaste for a good while. Palate is medium full and soft with a medium strong carbonation. Good porter with interesting dark fruity notes. Enjoyable like this but could work even better if it was a bit fuller.
