Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 13, 2003 A black beer with a light brown head. The aroma is slightly smokey - but not enough for a porter. And the flavor is dominated by a sweet smoked taste - not my preference of a porter because of too little smoked malt - but a nice beer. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 15, 2005 (Bottle, 35,5 cl) All the Anchor beers wakes up good memories from my US road trips back in the 90es. Oh sweet innocence... Tar-like blackness with a slightly creamy, brownish head. No extra added fermentables or carbon dioxide. Fat and powerful, sweet almost port-like with a dry hoppiness on the palate. Very interesting Porter. omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 12, 2002 Near black. Nice chocolate aroma. Slightly sweet in the nose. Richly malty. Hints of licorice. Balanced bitterish finish. Very good! yespr (7788), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 12, 2008 From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown to black, little red hue and a dense tan/brown head. Roasted malt aroma, mild coffee note. Caramel malt, chocolate and a smooth roasted note following. Minor liqourice note. Ends with a smooth chocolate and light roasted note. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 7, 2005 I owe this rating due to a forum post DaSilky1 made months ago pointing out that I hadn’t rated this yet and to Shadey for buying me a bottle so that I could. I didn’t think much of this beer the first time around but man have I changed my mind.

Near black colour. Aroma is chocolatey, slightly sharp (acidic). Slightly roasty, acidic, toasty with chocolate overtones and mocha highlights. Really cool beer - like a mix between the assertiveness of 21st century porter and the complexity of 19th century stuff (yes, I was around back then).
