San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Deep rich dark color with a full head. Full body. Balance of the barley malt and the hops is close to perfect for a porter. Excellent beer.

355ml bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with a small light brown head that disappeared quickly. Aromas of roasted malts, vanilla, coffee, dark fruits, honey, walnuts. Taste pretty much a continuation of the aroma, very malty with notes of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dark fruits, some hops in the background. Full body with a creamy, sticky and somewhat dry finish. Overall a very good tasting Porter. It’s a shame my glass is already empty. Loved it...

Bottle, 355 ml. Overall pleasant, well balanced porter. Carbonation is felt, but not too prominent. Had this with thai food (prawns) at home, would try again.

Butelka. Aromat kawy zbożowej, czekolay mlecznej. W smaku goryczka lekka, trochę jakby popiołowe, niesamowicie głakie, słodkawe.

Pours deep brown almost black colour with a huge fluffy beige head. Heavy (roasted) malty aromas. Mostly coffee with hints of dark fruit, dark chocolate, and chocolate coated cherries. Medium bodied. On the palate it tastes mostly of coffee and dark chocolate. Mildly bitter in the aftertaste with some fruity sourness. It’s a very nice porter.

It is a perfect porter. The color is black and heavy and the foam is strong. The taste is perfect, smocked and we smell the pear and the sweetness is really pleasant.
