Bottle thanks to HogTownHarry. Pours a beautiful pitch black with a nice amount of head. Mouthfeel is creamy, and it smells like very dark chocolate. Taste is strongly of dark chocolate, with a very dominant character of marley barley that lasts for ages. Finish is bitter with a lingering flavour reminiscient of scotch accompanied by roasted barley and toffee. This one is quite the brew. Fairly heavy amount of lacing on the glass. A fine pleasure to drink.

Oct 10, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a deep, dark mahogany color. Nice tan head, too. Aroma was malted barley, some coffee notes. Flavor was robust, with rich chocolate and roasty coffee notes coming through. Palate was excellent, a thickness that didn’t get in the way but carried the flavors nicely. I plan on getting some more of this.

Oct 9, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours nearly opaque brown with a medium tan head. Aromas of sweet dark fruits (tons of raisin and red grape), caramel, chocolate. Flavor follows suit with the dark fruits and chocolate, then some roastiness. Clean finish.

Oct 5, 2008 Very dark pour with an off-white head that left nice lacing. Aroma was weak, consisting mainly of muted malt and coffee. Taste was better, with a mix of chocolate and coffee and some roastiness/smokiness.

Oct 3, 2008 poured dark brown with nice head that disapated to a thin head that lasted forever. didn’t get much aroma but my smeller may not be working too well. Flavor is great - creamy and chocolate/malt/coffee - nice little bite in the aftertaste to mix it up - awesome palate - Very good and I plan to get some more of this stocked up.
