COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. This beer i had on tap while eating a sausage/onion/pepper sandwich. it had a roasty, smokey aroma with a black, appearance and a frothy, head the flavor was medium bitterness, full body, sticky, soft carbonation , with a long finish, very strong taste. I enjoyed it but i couldn’t drink more then 3 at a sitting.

Clear dark purple brown to black beer, big frothy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet caramel, dried fruits, slight mocha hint, liquorish. MF:low carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, sweet malts, brown sugar, toast, little nutty, dried cranberries. Aftertaste: mocha, bit sour, some hop bitterness, cocoa powder.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after a couple of days span of saying bye to people at work. Appearance is pitch black with a very frothy tan head that laces to the glass, looks decadent. Aroma of roasted chocolate malt, more malty than anything, a hint of molasses which is unusual for a porter. Taste is pretty good, standard really, more malty than hoppy, chocolate presence, nice bitterness to it. Very solid porter.

Wow! Black color with ruby highlights, thicky moka head. Aroma of porcini mushrooms (Boletus aereus), roasted malt. Taste is rich, from coffee to mushrooms again (unbelievable!). Leaves a pleasant aftertaste. Body is a bit oily, soft carbonation.

Good beer for drinking or boiling brats. Pours a deep dark brow with a billowy off white head. Nose and taste are of malts with a trace of hops. Another reliable offering from Anchor.

Pours a deep black with a fair light cocoa head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate and barley. Nice smooth flavor, fair level of carbonation, chocolate, roasted malts, barley and a hint of hops in the finish.
