2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatTony (175) - Augusta, Georgia, USA - NOV 15, 2012Bottle- pours out a dark brown with a burnt orange head. Aroma was sour, a little rancid. Fortunately the taste didn’t follow suit. Sweet black coffee with some obvious alcohol. Palate was thin and heavily carbonated. Not my cup of tea. Average.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 DocJitsu (304) - California, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Pours a nearly opaque, very dark with cola brown glitz around the bottom edge. Caramelized colored head retains very nicely. Aromas of prunes and roasted barley malt. Mouthfeel is smooth, moderately thick, and balanced and blended perfectly with the carbonation. Dark fruit up front. Lingering coffee platter the finish. Surprisingly nice Porter.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 mcnealc31 (220) - Elida, Ohio, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Color is black, as it should be, with a very fluffy beige head. The aroma is an inviting mix of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Sweet malt comes through first in the flavor, with plenty of coffee and chocolate. Dry, oak finish.
Smooth texture, phenomenal balance and flavor, and at only 5.6% ABV, it’s not heavy handed. It’s beautifully crafted brews like this that make me love porters so much!

cisco’s famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Darwenus (381) - Virginia, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Deep brown with an average head, there are strong coffee and malty notes in the aroma. The flavor is rich and fairly complex. There’s coffee and chocolate and rich, dark, bready malts. A little caramel, too, and some hop burn. I liked this and I’ll buy it again.

The head is good, the body black. It smells sweet, malty, a bit darkamalty, fresh, a bit woody. The taste is woody, malty, darkmalty, a bit roasty, a bit sweet, touch of sour but stops with a full bodied maltaromatic taste. This beer is highly interesting and delicious! 13/13/13/13/14/13
