2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bluevegie (2926) - Perth, - JUL 4, 2004
Clear pale golden colour ( touch of orange ) with a fluffy white mainly lasting head. Sweet taste with a little hop bitterness trying to balance it out, overall a bit thin and watery but would be ideal for a session on a hot summers day.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2012 33cl can, 5% made in Cambodia. From a mini-marked im Phnom Penh. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt and cooked vegetables with a hint of hops. Pretty sweet with a light malty taste and hints of hops and bitterness in the finish. Classic SEA pale lager. Quite drinkable in the heat. Drank it several times both from can, bottles and tap. Sometimes it was not so fres, and sometimes it had a slightly metallic aftertaste and hints of basement in the aroma.

The beer(s) I drank were license brewed in Sri Lanka and the only reason I chose them was because there was no alternative. Thin and actually less smooth than its main competitor in that country - Lion Lager. Although I had never heard of Anchor Smooth before I went there, so dismal was it, that I might have guessed it was made by some beverages behemoth.
Well worth avoiding.

can in KL best before 10 2012 First thing is that abv is now 4.2% not 4.55 as above . pale gold white head typical of mass produced lager . No aroma to speak of unless it was grass I smelt . Slight sweet malt hint on first taste before an unpleasnat bland metallic bitterness sets in . Thin watery body . Very poor . Can’t understand how it manages to stay on the market

An average Asian Lager, one of many, not really different to others from SE Asia. An actual prize if you find one of these in Malaysia
