This ruby ale is skimmed early to keep it sweet and full bodied. It has coffee, chocolate, and liquorice notes and a soft bitter finish from the low after hops used.

Cask conditioned at The Tap & Barrel, Littlehampton, W.Sussex. Brown with cream head. There is a tart chocolate note at the start of this, fruity with a boiled vegetable undertaste. Not really up to scratch.

Cask at GBBF 2013. Dark brown colour, minimal head. Malt, chocolate and coffee aroma. Thin body. No carbonation. Least enjoyable of the beers tried at the GBBF, aroma fine but needed more body, too thin even allowing for its abv.
