biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA May 18, 2008 Pours a dark golden color with nice white very fluffy head that diminishes to a white film. Aroma is yeasty and malty. Flavor is the same. Lacing on glass was minimal. Mouthfeel was pleasant. This is a very refreshing beer with a high degree of drinkability. joe19612 (673), camberley, Surrey, England May 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours a darkish golden ale with a constant head and a good lightly hopped aroma. The flavour is lightly hopped with hints of malt and acidity. A nice hopped ale.
esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 Yellow with quickly dissipating medium white head. Semi-sweet aroma with some grassy hops mixed in. Taste is pretty blah, on par with most wheat ales. Finishes a little dry. I was a little excited to try this one based on the other anchor offerings I’ve had but a summer wheat ale just isn’t my thing. thornecb (1737), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA May 17, 2008 Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention leaves sheet lacing as is slowly recedes. Apricot from front to back. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA May 12, 2008 Poured into a pint glass. A shade redder than gold, with a thick and dense head that sticks around forever.
Aroma is of stale malt. Kind of a crackerish quality.
Flavor is of fresh bread with very little fruitiness. This beer tastes wheaty, not like what happens when wheat is fermented, but literally it tastes like wheat. Cereal graininess and no fruitiness make this pretty dubious stylistically. Almost tastes like a macro pilsener actually.
Mouthfeel is quite good. Good carbonation and body, refreshing when cold. Just doesn’t really hit the spot. BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA May 11, 2008 Pours with a large, rocky white head covering a medium to dark golden hued body. Aroma is fruity, clean, and wheat like. Taste is bitter up front, slightly metallic, and really not too pleasing. Creamy mouthfeel, but too carbonated for me. ditmier (1023), Boise, Idaho, USA May 10, 2008 2008 Bottle - I found the aroma the nicest part, clean and bitter, floral - like sunshine in a bottle. The taste was something else...pale on the palate, bitter but not enoyable, weak finish....average... Eleventh11Man (7), Minnesota, USA does not count May 7, 2008 Pours a OK golden color, not the best smelling beer in the world. has a nice refreshing taste, but not worth extra money.
