SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 16, 2009 Draught at the brewery RBSG09. Straw color with a thick white head that lasts the whole glass. Aroma of wheat and barley malt. Lightly fruity flavor with a big wheaty triscuit cracker flavor and very light herbal hops in the finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Just a wheat bomb, and not really like any beer that I’ve had in that respect. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2009 Pours a gold yellow with a thick white head. Yeast wheat and malt aroma. Soomth crisp malt taste with just a touch of earthy hop bitterness. Good summer brew, but could have just a touch more flavor. smooch (95), Sylvania, Ohio, USA Jul 12, 2009 An ok drink. I had anchor steam many years ago so new recent experience with any of their brews. This one has a fluffy head, a smooth flavor although a little stuffiness up front. All in all, not bad and I could drink more. dalek123 (103), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2009 Pours golden with a big pillowy white head. Head is long lasting with good lacing. Nose is wheat. Overall taste is muted; what’s there is wheat, bisquity, and sweetish. At first I was prepared to dislike this beer because of a lack of character, but it grew on me. Very refreshing summer drinking; I thoroughly enjoyed it. popkow (107), New York, New York, USA Jul 7, 2009 Amber beer with white laced head. Very clean beer light on hops and malts smooth and refreshing yet lacks a formative taste to resonate on the palate. douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jul 4, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Bayou. Pours a bright amber color with a very large white head. The aroma is lots of wheat; sweet notes of honey perhaps and a light handful of hops. The flavor was decent; flavorful, grainy, lightly sweet and earthy hops. A nice brew, simple and unassuming. RedSox2004 (353), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Jul 2, 2009 Updated: Jul 3, 2009Pours deep gold, almost amber, with a generous and durable bright white head that left thick lacing. Wheat malt is quite noticable in the smell, with a touch of grassy hops mixed in. Flavors are similar, with some spiciness and a lemony twang. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, and a clean finish. A decent beer, just not very exciting. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 1, 2009 Pours a nice clear golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is yeast, wheat, fruit, grass. Flavor is wheat, grass, slightly fruity sweetness. Easy drinking wheat ale.
