pured a bright yellow with a thin, billowy white cap. The nose was bready, yeasty with a peppery hoppiness. The flavor was pilsner-esque. A light and bready maltiness with a hoppy balanced that lingered and faded into a slight citric flavor. The finish was dry and had a slight alcohol burn. Overall a nice summer beer. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 16, 2005 Pours a clear golden hue. Smells of wheaet, malt, and grass/straw. Tastes of wheat, grass, dough, and malt. Highly carbonated and pretty refreshing. szkot (100), Minnesota, USA Jun 13, 2005 Pours a medium golden, with a gigantic, thick white head and lots of carbonation. Non-offensive aroma. I can really taste the wheat in this beer. Very crisp, easy to drink. A very nice beer for summer. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jun 12, 2005 Bottle. Straw yellow with a medium foamy white head. Nose is wheat and citrus zest along with light yeast, hops and grassy notes. Taste is wheaty and grassy with yeast, lighter citrusy notes and some bread/dough notes. Body is bubbly and effervescent with big carbonation feel to it. Finish is grains, light citrus, yeast, grass, biscuit notes and light hops. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Jun 11, 2005 Poured a clear effervescenet gold with a large frothy white head. Light aroma of spice with a touch of fruitiness. The taste is where the disappointment truly lies... like Anchor’s take on macro swill. Corn and hops dominate the palate, leading to a dry bitter unpleasant aftertaste. Slight acidity sneaks its way into the flavor, as if the beer is desperately trying to remind you that it’s not as bad as Coors Light. And it isn’t, but it’s not worlds better, either. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 11, 2005 On tap at the Crescent Moon. Golden in color with a white medium head. Filtered, so there’s not much visual excitement. restrained in the hop category- could be better hopped. Has enough of a bite to be displeasing to BMC drinkers, but could be a nice niche beer for those who feel the Old Chicago is exotic. I, however, must declare it to be Mr. Maytag’s most mundane brew yet, but then again, I have not opened my first bottle of Small beer. rmalloy (195), los angeles, California, USA Jun 9, 2005 The principal problem of rating systems, from coffee to wine to beer, is that lightness and subtlety are recipes for low ratings. I like this beer. It’s thin, but it’s supposed to be thin--so I give it a 5 for palate. OK, truth be told, it’s not that great. Rballs01 (264), Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, USA Jun 6, 2005 I loved this brew. Poured a golden straw color with an unbelivably creamy white head. Was very refreshing and had a hint of nutmeg in the aftertaste. Maybe a secret ingredient or maybe just too much insence burning?
