biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2005 Clear and the color of cornsilk with a creamy wisp of a head. Sweet grainy wheat aroma. Very clean and crisp with a moderately dry, bitter finish. Light and well balanced if uninteresting. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Jun 4, 2005 I’m almost positive this beer is the 2005 version, but it looks like some dust and sediment has already begun and its still officially spring. Oh well, It’s still a straw see through gold and has that famous little tiny white head that summer beers have( wheats and kolschs). The aroma is a light mix between barley hay and puny hops. The same can be said about the flavor; it being weak while also being a crisp grassy malt added with a touch of hop. Although, i did expect a little more since this was brewed by Anchor, but i guess it’s a okay beer for the hot lazy days. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA May 26, 2005 surprising to see around this area, so i had to buy a sixer. guy at the store told me it wouldnt be that great, but yeah its still an anchor. really easy to drink beer. probably one of the best in this class that ive had before. orange color pour with a white head that goes away quickly. flavor is so smooth that you can almost not tell you are actually drinking anything. a good beer for a hot day. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA May 23, 2005 Pours a golden yellow with a nice white head. Has your typical wheat beer flavor although its a bit yeasty. Over all not to bad at all. Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA May 22, 2005 Not bad. It’s balanced and very refreshing. My beef is paying Anchor prices for it. Certainly not worth what they’re charging for it, I might as well just get cheap lager for the same results. Padron4KM (400), Chandler, Arizona, USA May 21, 2005 12 oz Bottle 05 edition.
Pours out clear golden with a fluffy, creamy off white head. good lacing. lively carbonation.
Aroma is lightly fruity, malty, and a little floral.
Flavor is slightly sweet, with a lemony character at the end.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, with a touch of grain.
Body is light.
Drinkable, refreshing, but not up to Anchor standards.
Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA May 18, 2005 Compares to basic amican lagers. Good after a hot Arizona day but that is about it. Had a good appearnace with a gold body and big white head and some lacing. Detected well aroma of wheat. Flavor was little flat and clean on the palate. GuilTTy (527), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA May 18, 2005 I’m not a fan of Summer beers but I thought I owed this one a fair tasting because Anchor generally puts out a great product. Unfortunately, they didn’t do so here but I think that’s because it’s just impossible to make a "good" Summer beer. That said, crystal clear golden straw pour with a healthy white head, good retention and lacing. Slightly sweet and floral aroma. Pale malt flavor with some peach & apples and a little hoppy balance in the background. Finish was clean and dry. Mouthfeel thin (but what summer beer isn’t?). Overall, it’s a drinkable beer and not offensive in any particular way. If you really like summer brews, this is probably a good choice, if you don’t like them, there isn’t anything inside the bottle to change your mind - though the label on the outside says "Anchor".
