COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anchor Summer is the first American wheat beer in modern times. Our first brew of this light and refreshing beer was in the summer of 1984.

Anchor Summer is an all-malt beer, and over 50% of its malt comes from malted wheat. It is fermented with a Triticum aestivum, AKA wheat traditional top-fermenting "ale" yeast because we prefer the clean flavors developed by this yeast. We believe that this style best celebrates the refreshingly light flavor of malted wheat. You may notice that the head on this beer is unusually abundant, with a consistency similar to whipped egg whites. This is due to protein contributed by the wheat.

The brewers at Anchor are proud to have revived not only rich hearty dark beers, but also this light crisp style of a modern American wheat beer.

Wheat malt contributes to an unusual lightness and dryness to the palate, and this—combined with the distinctive flavor of the wheat—makes for a perfect thirst-quenching beverage. It is the ideal drink for beer lovers who appreciate tradition and character in their beer, but also seek a lighter, refreshing style, perfect for warm weather.

Wheat (summer) ales are not really my thing. Perhaps this is a well made version of what it is but I find that it is like the flavors don’t know what direction to go in. The wife says flat and muddled flavor. Serving: Bottle

Pours a clear yellow with thin white head. Not much of an aroma, just a hint of wheat. Slightly sweet flavor with a bit of wheat. Not bad, but not Anchor’s best beer.

Bottle. Nose is grass, malt, slight bran. Taste is light, almost lager malt leading to wheat, with slight brad and banana. Mouthfeel is too carbonated and the finish short. It’s a drinkable session beer, but deeply forgettable. From the bottle this beer is in it’s 30th year, maybe it’s showing it’s age... I rather think the world has moved on.

Bottle. Crystal clear orange, large off-white head, creamy and slow to dissipate, nice lacing. Aroma is grain, honey, hay, wheat, grass. Flavor is medium sweet, very light bitter. Light body, high carbonation. Drinkable but very nondescript.

Cereal bread, lemon peel. Yeasty wheat, mild orange cake, dry coriander finish. Quite a disappointment by Anchor standards, not that bad but does have some of the macro beer stinkness I was not expecting...

Bottle from Yamaya. Light citrusy nose, peaches in background, and sea breeze. Medium straw color. Fresh mix of citrus and light wheat. Flavors get maltier in mid, with some gentle bittering, too. Thin-medium body. A mildly zesty brew.

This light gold beer has unique sweet aroma that I can't quite put my finger on. It has a smokey flavor and it lingers with a pleasing aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale golden hue with thin foamy white head, smells of faint wheat, light texture, a bit of a cereal aftertaste, maybe a touch of citrus\lemon, refreshing, nothing too special

Keg at Brewdog Aberdeen. Nice bright clear golden colour with a thin white head that fades. Aroma is Nobel hop, earthy light herbal notes and yeast esters. Nice grainy cereal in the nose as well. Nose is almost German. Flavour is composed of fresh nutty and cereal grains, light lemon zing and chalky mineral. Palate is pretty thin, crisp but refreshing. Dry and chalky in the finish.

Butelka 355ml. OCZY : jest to przejrzyste piwo o kolorze brudnej pomarańczy. Piana jest średniej wielkości i opadając zostawia wzorowy lacing. Kolor piany jest biały. NOS : aromat ziaren niedojrzałego zboża, słodkiego chleba, delikatnie cytrusów i banana. Łatwe w piciu i można go parować z rybami i surowymi warzywami. Takie piwo do sushi. OCENA : smak : 4/10 pijalność : 7/10 styl : 0
