3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured two fingers of foamy head on a clear, golden colored body. Lots of bubbles, looks great.
The aroma is nice: honey and clover.
The taste has a moderate, dry bitterness that almost goes towards metallic. It’s tempered by the wheat softness.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It’s on the more bitter side for a summer beer, tends towards a German pils bitter taste.

From a bottle. Pours clear, not much aroma, fruity with a mild sour finish. Not too bad.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear with an inbetween golden and amber color with a large frothy head that lasts long. Nice lacing. Quite a good looking sight. Aroma is a bit citrusy/grassy with some malts, bit of hay as well. Bit bland. Taste is clear hoppy bitter with a small kick of the malts and some fruits. Mild bittersweet touch in the aftertaste as well, yet far too watery. Not that special, but not bad though (despite the watery finish). Light bodied, with a thinnish mouthfeel... Soft and easy drinkable. Decent brew, certainly not bad, but a bit too bland with a watery miss in the aftertaste and on the palate. Should work out fine on a warm summer night.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
"not my favorite style, but this one is light in body and refreshing. not very complex, but there’s a nice biscuity wheat character. ever so slightly above average for the style."

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
355ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty during Summer’s “American Food Festival” promotion.
Clear amber honey colour; Less than one-quarter finger head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Small sticky lacing with very slight carbonation; Aroma of very light malt, with papaya, light peaches, very light floral, molasses, yeast, faint citrus and faint grass;
Zero sweet taste of very thin malt, with faint tartness, soda water, molasses notes, faint lemon and notes of bitter hops; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is seriously watered down wheat lager. Despite the advertised 50% wheat malt, its smell, taste and feel suggest much less than that. No tartness, not much dryness, minimal head retention. Very empty otherwise as there’s not much barley or wheat to show for, taste almost like soda water with occasional molasses and faint lemon notes to show for. Very disappointing… Hoppiness is minimal: Golding and Glacier contributes only very light sweet and floral aroma. Faint lemon in taste with barely detectable bitter notes for soda-like non-finish; Fairly dry after taste, fairly easy and watery to mouth.
Comments: This is perhaps the most disappointing Anchor beer I’ve had so far. It’s simply a pale shadow of typical Wheat Ale, if you can actually call that - everything are minimal, from barley and wheat malt to yeast and West Coast hops. Taste a bit like the Lander Bräu Weissbeer but without the latter’s malty backbone and caramel taste. I would rather drink free tap water than paying to drink this. Poor!

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This beer seams to be missing in texture. It us very surprisingly thin. The brewers of this beer say that the wheat malt contributes to an unusual lightness and dryness to the palate... I say that this beer is unusually thin and tasteless. Not a fan
and this—combined with the distinctive flavor of the wheat—makes for a perfect thirst-quenching beverage. It is the ideal drink for beer lovers who appreciate tradition and character in their beer, but also seek a lighter, refreshing style, perfect for warm weather.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.40):
A real disappointment from Anchor here, particularly given the reputation of the brewery and my past experiences with them with this one being forgettable in almost ever area, not to mention boring and bland as well. Both the taste and smell seemed far to weak and featured too much skunk to make them enjoyable, that couple with the relatively poor mouthfeel makes this a beer I can’t recommend at all.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
White thin and slighty creamy full lasting head. Dark orange colour. Aroma is moderately hoppy with herbal and grainy notes, slighty fruity (pear). Flavor is moderately malty with fruity (pear, apple and a hint of apricot) and light hoppy tones, ending in a balanced moderately hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied.
