| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 19, 2003 I don't consider this the "traditional" summer brew. Most are fairly light. This left me feeling more full than anything. That aside, this was very good. Thick white head with a golden color. As is the case with other summer beers, I noticed a somewhat citrusy flavor with this. Very good. Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 10, 2004 Huge White billoughy head. Great Flavor. Served at the perfect temperature. I really really like this. Not a bit o bitter. I’m very pleasantly suprised. Anchor makes a very fine product. Rballs01 (264), Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 6, 2005 I loved this brew. Poured a golden straw color with an unbelivably creamy white head. Was very refreshing and had a hint of nutmeg in the aftertaste. Maybe a secret ingredient or maybe just too much insence burning? TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Enjoyed this one on draught at the brewery in San Francisco, back in July 06. The brewery tour was tremendous, and this was the first beer we sampled after the tour. I’ve had this beer a few times in bottle, but this was the first time I had it very fresh on draught, and its was excellent. An American wheat beer by style, this is a tart, refreshing, thirst quenching brew, with good wheat malt character. Anchor Summer Beer pours to a beautiful, bright, pale gold color, with a nice white head, and a good carbonation. The nose is very nice, with some good citrus aroma, paired with some "grainy" wheat malt aroma. The palate is very crisp, with lots of good tart, and grainy wheat malt flavor. This beer finishes with more good tart wheat malt up front, then ends with a touch of citrus, hop bitterness. A very drinkable wheat beer, perfect for warm weather, and a beer you could pound with impunity. irishpenguin13 (27), Leesburg, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Has a big, puffy white head atop a hazy yellow liquid. Lots of tiny bubbles. Looks like a nice witbier. Lace is not bad.
Has the wheaty smell of a Belgian white, but absent the usual spicy Belgian aroma. The wheat and some light yeast give a nice, dry scent.
The taste is a blast of citrusy fruit right off the bat. Lemony and a little sour; like lemonade. Very very tart. Has a nice balanced undercurrent. Dryness takes the pucker out of the citrus.
The feel is watery and sour, like a lemon-drop. It’s a really sour, puckery summer brew. Really refreshing and nice. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2002 Had one of these out of a bottle at the Old Bag of Nails Pub in Worthington. Fresh and fruity nose of flowers. Pours a light amber with your typical huge dense white and creamy wheat head. The head is fully lasting with great lacing. Starts sweet, the middle is fruity with no acidity. The finish is average with decent bitterness. The refreshing body is light and watery, smooth and creamy, with soft carbonation. The finish feels astringent. Very good brew.
